Boating, camping, fishing and skiing on a lake with all the aunts, uncles and cousins for a week. We also lived just a few blocks from a river and park, so we were there until dark almost every night. I grew up in Modesto, CA (think American Graffiti) and we always had the canals to play in also.

homemade peach ice cream in a hand crank ice cream maker. YES! Nothing better.

That is a wonderful graphic Seadog!
I’ve made a few from ‘50’s Drive-in scenes, but they were for personal webpages.

I think we did, but might have called it a different name...
maybe just “statues”.
You swung someone by the arm and then let go. They had to
freeze however they landed after you let go?

I think most kids had sort of our memories but for minor
detail changes.
I did leave out going to the drive-in for a double feature. :D

All skinniy arms and legs.

Seadog! That is so very cool!
Can I call on you often for graphics??? LOL
To: LUV W
No way.. I’d never give someone like that my name.
It’s just the luck of the draw...The phone rings and you pick it up.
We don’t take turns, just who ever happens to be free.

I remember working in the fields with 100+ temps, picking cotton I've picked cotton in Fresno when I was a child. Don't think it was that hot though. I only remember going all day long and earning just about 50 cents.

I didn’t hit 100 until I was 14.

Mom used to make 2 grocery bags of popcorn to take with us..
One for the front seats and one for the kids in the back of the station wagon.

Evening, AZ, Kathy.
My fondest summer memories are somewhat collective, rather than individual — simply the travels my father took us too. We saw much of the country. Dad’s motto: See America first. He was definitely a fun guy.

I told Sandrat the other night my favorite drive in movie recollection was when my parents took us & we saw "Yours, Mine & Ours" with "Paint Your Wagon"
There was a playground in front of the screen & it was safe to go & play.
Good times...good times.
