Live thread for commentary on the ABC News Primetime ObamaCare Infomercial tonight at 9:00 PM CT/10:00 PM ET.
John Boehner recommends this handy guide to the healthcare informercial from The Freedom Project.
A Guide to the President's Health Care Infomercial
Obama's Thinking 'Evolves' on Health Care Requirements
Acknowledging that his thinking on the issue has "evolved," President Barack Obama says he could support a law mandating that individuals purchase health care coverage, with fines for those who do not, but he stressed that there must be some kind of waiver for those who are simply unable to afford it. (snip)
During the election campaign, Obama said he was opposed to a federal law mandating the purchase of health care coverage.

Well, we don’t have any control over him and I don’t make false claims myself.
I just endure.

>>Q. 46 million people are uninsured now. We cant get an appointment now. How are we going to get appointments when those additional 46 million people are insured?
A. We need to provide incentives for doctors to go into primary care, reduce administrative paperwork, get nurses involved in more effective ways, increase prevention and wellness to reduce ER care to free up primary care physicians to see more patients.<<
I was thinking about that number today 46 million.
That does not include illegal aliens who aren’t counted, but who will be when the plan comes through.
is that right?
If so then that puts an additional what 20 million on top of that making it around 66 million?

Thanks for listing advertisers.
Will have to make some changes but if they - advertisers - can be in my face sponsoring this crap, I can be in their faces by changing the way I shop (or don't shop) and by what items I will no longer buy.
Thanks again, austinaero!

You are welcome! I usually rely on others and last night I felt esp strong because this was easily an issue where I just knew his pompous attitude would shine through and it sure did.
I think the crisis facing our country can be summed up in one word - OBAMA.

I do not understand Congress and Obama are hell bent on destroying our existing health care system.
I my opinion the first people in line for the plan should be the people pushing it through the congress. First in line would be Obama and family, next would be entire administration followed by the both houses of Congress and their families.
The union members and their families should put into the new “public option” immediately after the paperwork is completed.
Last but not lease is the 47 million (legal and illegal) uninsured that everyone has been talking about.
That should solve he health care problem because everyone is covered. The old costly government and union plans have been scrapped in favor of ObamaCARE.
Now for real cost saving lets do some serious tort reform which should lower cost across the board.
Problem Solved. Not leave your grimy hands off my insurance because I happen to like it.

Honestly. I have a healthy 80 year old mother, already past her government calculated life expectancy. And what, are they going to force abortions of disabled children or deny them healthcare if you keep the baby? There is no plan here (or its so bad that cant say out loud what it really is) and so much is at stake.
Every time I think of Obama's plan, I think of the movie Gattaca (1997) More at IMDbPro » http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119177/ and, gulp, SOYLENT PEOPLE. arghhhhh.....

Is it wrong to hope Michelle slaps Barry up the side of the head a few times each day?
She'd probably use one of her high dollar sneakers!

A. SS, Medicare/Medicaid will go broke soon if we dont do anything because the cost of healthcase is rising faster than we can control it.
I thought SS, Medicare/Medicaid went broke a long time ago because funds were "mishandled" (i.e. raided) and allocated to other programs. Maybe an Urban Rumour....

If it is still legal meaning if Health Care reform compliments of Obama succeeds, I am sure it would take off. I also suspect many American Doctors take off to Costa Rica, Panama, and many other places to continue their practices to American citizens. There already is an incredible medical business environment happening in Central America. I suspect it would explode. Costa Rica has socialized medicine but they also offer other medicine via private hospitals, practices and medical insurance. An even bigger explosion in medical tourism if other care besides National care is no longer legal (with of course the exception of the special ones known as the congress, judicial and executive branch of government).
The downfall of Concierge Medicine is the limited scope that most MD’s have trained and excel in. How many of us have been to our primary care doc and after and xray or lab work get referred to someone else. The most successful Concierge practice would be one that had all the different specialties available under one practice and fee structure.
