Sanford Emails
Beaufort Gazette ^ | 6-24-09 | Beaufort Gazette

Posted on 06/24/2009 3:16:10 PM PDT by ArtyFO

Below are excerpts of e-mails, obtained by The State newspaper in December, between Gov. Mark Sanford and Maria, a woman in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The State has removed the woman’s full name and other personal details, including her address, e-mail address and children’s name.

Sanford’s office Wednesday did not dispute the authenticity of the emails.

McClatchy special correspondent Angeles Mase visited the 14-story apartment building in Buenos Aires Wednesday where the woman lives, according to the emails, which included her address. The woman at the address answered to the name in the emails and, at first, agreed to speak to a visitor, but she declined after the visitor identified herself as a reporter.

The doorman at the building, shown a photograph of Sanford, said he did not recognize him. According to the doorman, the woman has two sons, one a teenager of driving age and the other younger. The emails refer to the woman’s two sons.

That really is as damning as anything, it proves a complete lack of the kind of intelligence it takes to be a President, for instance.

Do you have any doubts that “the powers that be” can access any ordinary e-mail account in the country?

Obama’s Gestapo probably knows every secret on every opponent and potential opponent in the country.

Yup, he sounded like he’s fallen pretty hard for her. How the heck did he have an affair with a woman in Argentina? I mean, how often did they even see eachother?

“Ahhh, worse than a Rino,then.”

Having his head up his ass in regards to some Latina is worse than being a RINO? Um no.

“Let he that is without sin cast the first stone.”

Are you without sin, Abbeville?

I’m sure you’re perfect.

No, but the powers that be don’t care about most of our personal emails.

I like her for the reasons you mention, but I do worry about her electability. I know some here will say that makes me (insert whatever bad thing you can imagine) but I do think she was wounded in the last election like Dan Quayle was back in the day. Most people, when you mention his name, think of the word stupid because the press was so savage and successful.
So, while I like her, I hope she can repair that image because it hardly matters what you and I think of her, in the big scheme of things. She has got to turn on the larger electorate in order to win.

If his love for this woman is a deep as writes that it is, I see his wife kicking him to the curb. Hollywood will be chomping a the bit for a movie deal .

I don’t know, but it sure explains those trade missions or whatever it was he went to Argentina for in the last couple of years.

I dunno about this?
In any case, I cannot understand why Gov. Sanford was such a darling on this website before cheating on his wife but now is a dirtbag. To me, his disqualification as a presidential contender came only because he shirked his gubernatorial duty by being absent and out of touch for five days. I care less about his sins of the flesh. I felt the same about Clinton; despising him chiefly because he was a draft-dodging POS and a despicable serial liar.
We don't know what went on in Sanford's marriage; perhaps he and his wife have just grown apart. It happens. Sadly, 50 percent of marriages fail, and of that 50 percent a whopping amount is because of infidelity.
Ronald Reagan was divorced and turned out to be a great president( the details of why he left Jane Wyman are not known but speculation according the Hollywood rumor mill at the time... )
There have been a lot of other presidents too (FDR, JFK, Warren G. Harding that we know about) and there were some where there were rumors (Ike and Kay Somersby, for instance); it didn't make them bad men, only bad husbands.
Other than his shirking duty by being absent for 5 days, Mark Sanford was a pretty good governor, IMO. He still might make a good president. Just sayin’

Yes. Well, there was nothing wrong back in 1992 with Dan Quayle either. By all accounts, he was and is no dummy.

The Republicans let him be painted that way. They haven’t learned that if you let your enemies (such as the press) put you on the defensive by setting the terms of the debate, you are toast.

They still have not learned it.
