Gee I wonder if we could just confiscate from the coffers of SIEU all monies they use to donate to political parties and advertising and pay a bill or two for Calif.

We ought to stop using the tax code as a means of social engineering. Too many people are getting a free ride on the backs of people who work a lot harder - or at all.

I sense that the parasites are becoming more emboldened under 0bama.
It would be a hoot if some of them showed up at a Tea Party.

My wife is a SEIU member and we're looking into cutting off the extraneous dues deductions that fund crap like this from what she is required to pay for collective bargaining expenses. Unfortunately, California is not a “right to work” state.

Here is a solution. The SEIU should run commercials supporting a plan to have more waters off the coast of California open to drilling so the state can get more tax revenue and they wouldn’t lose their jobs.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Yeah, right. I kill myself sometimes.

The state already gets taxes and royalties from oil, not to mention sales tax and income tax from all the work done to get it out of the ground.
If the state is flat busted it only makes sense to support and expedite offshore drilling. This is oil that percolates up through the ocean floor if you don’t drill for it, so you may as well get it and pump that money into the local economy and into the state’s coffers as well. It makes no sense to leave that oil to seep into the ocean for free when the state is way past being bankrupt.

My wife is a SEIU member and we're looking into cutting off the extraneous dues deductions that fund crap like this from what she is required to pay for collective bargaining expenses. I did it for the last 3 or 4 years I worked. I didn't know that I could before then. Back then you had to do it every year in October, if memory serves me (and it does less and less nowadays).

The citizens in CA all applauded when millions of acres was purchased or otherwise acquired by the state or feds.
Guess what? Now there is ZERO tax revenue coming from govt-owned lands. Can’t tax ‘em.
So what happens is all the other private landowners have to suck it up and pay more for all those formerly private lands that are now the goverments.
Lot of money in selling off govt land and them getting tax assessments on them to boot.
