In a stunning confession, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday to being "unfaithful" to his wife during a press conference meant to account for his mysterious week-long absence. "I've let down a lot of people. That's the bottom line," he said. "I've been unfaithful to my wife." Sanford, who just returned from Argentina, said he developed a "relationship with what started out as a dear, dear friend from Argentina."

I hope, for her sake, his wife beats the tar out of him.

That made me laugh. Thanks!

If this is true, then looks like it’s Palin by default.

Why can’t “conservative” politicians just learn the simple art of keeping their pants zipped up?

I hope the last fling of life as he knew it was worth it.

That girl must have some strong mojo.

Total and utter stupidity. Even if the moral issue doesn’t bother you about affairs like this, the outright idiocy of such people should bar them from public office.

I’m not sure which story was more bizarre.

hiking the Appalachian Trail. Alone??

flying to Argentina??

running off with a girlfriend?

The guy cracked under pressure. Not sure that I might not do the same, who knows, but at any rate, keep him away from the White House.

Very plainly the left and Obama are in serious trouble. there is no other reason for the sleaze mongering the libs are doing. This is simply to deflect attention for the catastrophic failures of this Administration and these events will not have the legs of what is going on in the world now.

So it could be true, the Gov. could have been with some hippie chick named Appalachian Trayle?

Another one bites the dust and thanks for giving Obama political cover for the next week.

North Korea is pooping off missiles and selling them to anyone, Iran is at the breaking point and all of Obama’s plans are failing, but just like a painted clock, some Republican gives him a way out.

Problem is that these Gov. now have too much free time. With staff’s numbering into the 100’s to do everything for them, they just don’t focus on the issues or small things like packing.

Anyone know where they met?

You know, I was hoping a few things. Like his trip wasn’t made public for security reasons. He really was hiking somewhere. That his wife’s seemingly casual response made it less likely.

But, maybe his wife’s response was so “casual” because she did know.

There is good money, employment, and power in politics. Really, all they have to do is talk the talk, and the money pours in.

I knew something was very fishy when his own wife said that she had no idea where he was.

My guess is that Mrs. Sanford is not going to have a Stand by Her Man press conference like Vitter’s wife.

Let’s see, that’s two “Likely Rep(ugh)lican Contenders” this week to fall due to scandal. White Hats calling them out or Black Hats? I did not think zer0 was THAT good. I do remember his Senatorial (non-)Opponent after the prior obstacle to his power resigned in a morals scandal.

I am sick of this. Hey out there. Are there any more sleazy GOP fools hiding something like this? Stand up and speak up now.

Then go the hell away.

DITTO!!! GET THE HECK OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT AND OUR BUSINESS, YOU HYPOCRITES !!

So good lesson: going forward with ANY candidate, verification has to be confirmed, and questions asked about their Constitutionsl eligibility for the office and proven moral character and lifestyle.
