President Barack Obamas refusal to take a stand on protests in Iran stands in sharp contrast to demands he has made on Israel, Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, says in a Newsmax interview.
I think he should take a strong stand to support the protesters in Iran who want to transform that society into one that promotes democracy and human rights, Klein says. But while meddling in Israels affairs and making specific demands, he explicitly states he refuses to meddle in Irans policies and has said almost nothing.
Klein says leaders of Jewish organizations are rethinking their support of Obama in light of his attitude toward Israel.
There are many leaders in the organized Jewish world who have privately discussed this issue with me, and say they are deeply concerned about Obamas actions and policies toward Israel, and now theyre rethinking their support for Obama during the campaign and the election, says Klein, whose organization of 30,000 members is the oldest pro-Israel group in the country.
Based on the presidents speech in Cairo on June 4 and many of his foreign policy appointments, Klein thinks Obama may become the most hostile president to Israel ever.
Obamas speech was inimical to Israel and supportive of the stream of false Palestinian Arab claims concerning Israel, Klein says. He is relentlessly pressuring Israel while applying virtually almost no pressure on the Palestinian Authority to fulfill its written obligations.

“We cant go on like this.”
sometimes I feel it’s a nightmare from which I will awaken.
Well, I’ve always been more of a ‘glass half full’ type of person, but I have to say that this is feeling more and more like a nightmare from which we’ll never awaken.
If we could just get the House back next year, but that is a huge mountain to climb.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Also a second post, but many comments.
The entire Old Testament provides the evidence. Stiff-necked and obstinant people, the Jews.
Having said that, I love them. They are the salt of the earth.
He got over 75%. Blacks, Jews, those little brown people, they're all the same, stupid.
“It makes sense that the same mentality that the Jews had back then, under Hitlers reign of terror”
Jews under Hitler were trying like Hell to get out of dodge, but immigration laws kept them from entering other countries.
There was no “sit back peacefully.” There was simply no where to go.
Lots of German Jews went to Poland initially, thinking that moving one country over to the country with the largest Jewish population in Europe would provide protection from the Third Reich. Big mistake in hindsight...
Thank you for your post. You are much more eloquent that I.
I was watching “Mad Men” Season 1 last night. It’s about adverstising in the 1950s. The main character, an ad man, new client was Israeli tourism. He knew squat about Jews or Israel.
So he talked to a some-time love interest, a stunning Jewish lady of American persuasion.
She went on for some time about what it was to be an American Jewess of mixed religious views vs. a Israeli Zionist.
I wish I had taped it.
As an Israeli-American Jew (Israeli born and raised) and voter for McCain (and Bush and Bush and Dole and Bush and Reagan), I ask, why should it matter what people who happen to claim to share my ethnic lineage and/or religion but who are not supporters of my country believe?
Do wish not to support Ireland also?
After all, they are generally Roman Catholic and vote crappy, too.
“Anyone who embraces the Chamberlain approach to the WOT will obviously embrace it for Israel. It’s about their worldview. Accusing a Chamberlain Jew of not caring about Israel is fruitless, he may well care. I’ve no doubt Chamberlain cared about Englands security, he was simply wrong.”
Very true.
And China, even.
There is a very odd (as in “wow, I didn’t expect that”) Asian-Jewish community in Israel as a result.
Well said!!!
“Buyers remorse is starting to set in.”
Most hostile to US as well.
Thank you.
I like Mad Men too. A period piece of the early 1960’s.
Re: Madmen
The Jewish lady who runs daddy’s store reminds me so much of a girl who came summers to Israel that broke my heart when I was teenager.
Even smoked, which was strangely hot.
