Her name was Neda, which means voice in Farsi. According to numerous online accounts picked up by media outlets worldwide, she was shot in the streets by Iranian state police while protesting today. This is what repression looks (warning: graphic):

Happens all the time on this thread -- witness the late seatrout.
You're beginning to sound like you're channeling him.
If not...well done, sir! (I understand she has a Masters in International Relations, too.)
Cheers!
Gay.
Yeah, all that blood from a *vial*.
They couldn’t hide the bucket big enough to supply all that fake blood and the way it poured out her nose and eyes.
My goodness, could he look any MORE like Urkel?
I've been crazy busy at work lately (relative peace has given us the opportunity to go full throttle on these efforts), so I haven't had time to read enough of the thread to get the gist of the argument.
However, although I am not a forensics expert, I have seen the horrible video clip and in my opinion, that unfortunate woman suffered death at the hands of the oppressors and her poor father witnessed a terrible family tragedy.
And who's to say that these dopes would survive the change to a more free system? If it causes problems for the current Iran admin, I'm all for it.
“Are we absolutely certain that this was not staged for sympathy? I do not trust Iranian Shiite Hezb’ullah. Or the MEK.”
The mullah militia blasts a hole into the chest of a 16 year old girl and you think it’s staged to help Hezzbully or the MEK?
I want those kind of drugs.
Thank you Sarkozy, the leader of the Free World.
France is also looking to ban the Saudi women sack too along with the current ban on headscarves in schools.
Meanwhile Obama attacks America and the West for not surrendering on such.
Here is a birthday present - ZOTTED seatrout

Just kidding. She is a sharp one, though.
Likely there are several factions interested in toppling the current regime. None of them singularly would be able to do it. Right now they have a common enemy.
If they work together, they can accomplish this. We can worry about who’s going to come out on top later.
But for now, the current regime cannot continue and I support the revolution. If someone wants to accuse me of supporting fascists because of that, that’s certainly their prerogative, but it’s nothing but false accusations. Anyone who does that is a liar engaged in a smear campaign against FReepers who think other than he.
Let it be noted, IMO, that objecting to the revolution simply because there may be factions in there that are not worth supporting, casts anyone in that position in the light of being against the revolution and in favor of keeping Ahmadinejad in power.
The people are far ahead of these mullah people, including Mousavi.
They are now yelling from the rooftops for the “death to the dictator.”
Sounds like they had enough.
When’s our turn?
Soon enough, no doubt.
You know, there are so many people who are worried about what’s going to happen to this country, and I agree with them. I don’t want to see this country go down the tubes.
However, while it’s not going to be pleasant, it’s not going to be permanent. People will not live under a dictator forever.
LOL
IATZ. The trout sleeps with the fishes.
