The Free Republic National Tea Party Convention will be held on September 11 - 13, 2009 at:

Rooms can be reserved for our negotiated convention rate of $116/night for single or double occupancy. The discounted group rate is available for convention attendees anytime during the period of September 7 through September 14.

Convention Admission
For each admission ticket you wish to purchase, you must enter a real name. You may also include a screen name or nick name that you would like to have printed on your name tag and your home state. Picture IDs will be required of adults at check-in.
The price of admission is $175 per person. The admission price is for the convention only. It does not include lodging. See info regarding room rates at the Sheraton.

Persons under 21 years of age will not be served alcoholic beverages. Persons under age 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Tickets are non-refundable.

Do you really think that you can make a difference in this political climate by having a "conference"?
Really, all respect due, unless you actually FIGHT against the Fedgov leviathan and risk a day or two in jail, you are spinning your wheels. Nothing will come of your efforts/expenses to listen to the "choir". I've been there.
YOU WOULD ALL DO BETTER BY PUTTING YOUR EFFORTS INTO "CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE" AND TRULY FIGHTING FOR OUR CONSTITUTIONAL HERITAGE, rather than talking about it at seminars. You're wasting you time.
Do what you will. Again, it won't make an ounce of difference unless you decide to fight and sacrifice! How did the Tea Parties and your phone calls work out for the "Cap & Trade Bill" in the House? YOU LOST! WE LOST! We can also lose in the Senate.
You're REALLY not getting how this is a WAR for the SOUL of America. Do your thing; invite the pundits to talk; raise your hands in unison; all applaud the speakers who say what your already know; walk away feeling good, but have no clue how to change things back to our Constitutional heritage.
Think this. You can spend so many of your dollars to join in a "group" hug, but are you willing to spend those same dollars for a fine from confronting the corrupt politicians on the Capitol steps? Enjoy your group kisses.

WHERE ARE ALL THE FREEPERS?
There were over 200 FREEPERS who said they were going to book a room at the Sheraton Hotel at our great group rate.
There were over 300 FREEPERS who said they were going to come to Washington, DC for the National Tea Party and they were going to come to our National Freeper Convention!

Yet, during the course of convention planning, there are incidental charges for this and that which generally continue right up till convention time.
Those of you who have served on committees for ANY organization putting on big events know exactly what I mean.
To my many freeper friends who can't make this convention and Tea Party, I'm making a personal appeal for a donation, perhaps equal to the cost of a ticket, or perhaps just what you can afford to send. This will help us by providing a contingency fund for unforeseen expenses or emergencies.
Perhaps some of you who can't go to DC would like to publicly demonstrate you're in total sync with the freepers going, many of whom are making the trip at some considerable personal financial sacrifice. I hope you'll back each and every one of them with some help and moral support for the success of this grass-roots event.
You'll receive a public tip 'o the hat, and grateful thanks from the hard-working committee who need at least a minimum petty cash fund to take care of unexpected costs and expenses.
Please, folks, you can be in DC in spirit, if not in body, if you can find it in your heart to lend a helping hand to this event and to its volunteer organizing committee.
Heartfelt thanks to the freepers who are donating tickets to students and those freepers living in or near DC who are generously offering beds in their homes to help out. There are many ways to help!

Yes. And you are going to hold Tea Parties that were ignored with the "Cap and Tax" bill, have a conference and everybody gladhand. I've been there and done that and it use to work, but no more unless you are ready for "civil disobedience". Without that, you are preaching to choir.

Here's a thought if you want to FEEL "liberal" good. If the police come and break up your party; You can tuck your tails between your legs and disperse like good subjects, OR, you can sit your ASS down and tell them NO MORE totalitarian nonsense, with respect to the LEO's of course.
Doubt any of you will. Keep preaching to the choir; waving your flags; showing your signs, and then go home.

Do you think we will change the minds of American if we start acting like Democrats?
Should we start assaulting those in government, how about we go after them at meeting with our hands painted red to symbolize blood?
Should we start breaking windows, disrupting traffic, assaulting people, running them over in cars?
How much support do you think we will get from the average America with actions such as that?
Thank you Leni - I wish to add two small points to your message.
There is absolutely NO profit added into the tickets, not for FR, not for anyone planning the event, no profit at all.
If by a small chance there is any money left over, after we have covered all of our costs, we will either donate the monies to FR or if Jim prefers, we will donate it in FR’s name to a charity of his choice, possibly a veterans organization.
Free Republic should not have to defend your opinion that violent protest is the ONLY way to go.
