Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann told the Washington Times that she and her family will not be fully filling out the 2010 census forms.
Bachmann, a Republican, said her family will only be indicating the number of people in the household, because "the Constitution doesn't require any information beyond that."
Bachmann believes the upcoming census to be "very intricate" and "very personal" and expresses concerns about ACORN's involvement in the data collection. The community organizing program came under scrunity after charges of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential elections.
"I think what the threat of ACORN would be deluding the ballot box and the effectiveness of our vote," she said. "They will be in charge of going door to door and collecting data from the American public, this is very concerning."
Bachmann also expressed frustration at the president's backing for ACORN, saying he has supplied $8.4 billion to ACORN since he has come into office, a number that far surpasses the $53 million given in the past 15 years.
"ACORN has received $53 million from 1994 to today, but now, since President Obama has come into office, he is making available $8.5 billion with a 'b' - to ACORN, an organization that is repeatedly under indictment for voter fraud in multiple states across the country,"

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Bachmann may be in trouble if she fails to fill out the entire census. Spokeswoman Shelly Lowe told the Washington Times that anyone over the age of 18 must fill out all the questions and any such person who refuses to answer "any of the questions" faces a $5,000 fine.

Acorn will not be welcomed at my home.
Acorn will not be welcomed at my home.
So we will all get a census worker at our door and we have to fill out this lengthy report or we get a $5000.00 fine?
We should all follow her lead. Only number of people in households and send it in. I will.
Nor mine ...
She is turning out to be a very good representative.
I will if everyone else will.
It's not nice to fool the ballot box!
That's almost like English.
APPLAUSE!!!
This could become a good grass roots level form of protest.
I would never even consider completing one of those Census long forms that I have read about. The short forms that most of us receive are by themselves too invasive.
I have never filled out a local census form in the towns where I have lived. I always toss them into the trash.
They usually remove me from the voters rolls, and I simply have to tell them that I still live in the house that I am in. No big problem, so far.
GMTA! 19 seconds.
They might be surprised at the number of one-legged lesbian Uruguayan midgets living in my house.
Maybe she should be on a GOP presidential ticket.
Sounds good to me!
5000.00 seems to me to be a flat out lie.

The Census folks will be getting name, rank and serial number at my house. Period. Anything else will be a blatant, uh, a typical answer given by an Obama rep.
she is a very decent woman also, she and her husband have done a lot of children’s foster care, and I believe adopted children.
Wow. I love this woman. She just joined the ranks of the VERY few Congress Critters whom I actually respect.
