ERIE, Pa. | Former President George W. Bush fired a salvo at President Obama on Wednesday, asserting his administration's interrogation policies were "within the law," declaring the private sector - not government - will fix the economy and rejecting the nationalization of health care.
"I know it's going to be the private sector that leads this country out of the current economic times we're in," the former president said to applause from members of a local business group. "You can spend your money better than the government can spend your money."

Bush equals the truth in this matter.
No nationalized healhcare, but prescription drugs are OK (foot in the door).
“We're going to suspend free-market principles to save the free market.”
OK, I'm with him on the torture.
I defended you fiercely for 8 years, President Bush. If you're going to “attack” Obammie the Commie, do so on grounds that don't implicate you as well.
You can cast your vote next time for the likes of Gore and Kerry...
Instead of using the Bully Pulpit when it mattered, Dubya, you went into a coma. Too late now.
“You can spend your money better than the government can spend your money.”
Amen!!!
My only sanity.
My President speaks!
Is it?
Well, say what you want, but W kept us safe and believes in American exceptionalism. He understood our political position in the world.
The financial thing was a long time coming and we all know it. Anyone who bought this or that on a whim or just had to have ___________________ so much that going out on a limb a little was OK...is a bit guilty. We are all tarred on the same stick after all.
How W stood against the 8 years of hate and treachery and lies and rampant bias is quite a testament. Look at what has been revealed in just the last few months as we see what has come out from the garbage can of the dem-socialist party.
Mine, too.
I refuse to acknowledge the imposter in the people’s house
right now...polluting it and trying to bring down the best country in the world with his dangerous ego trip!
Horsefeathers!
Maybe he's learned.
I WANT him to speak up - even if it's late.
The GOP has to stand firm AGAINST this crap.
There can be NO COMPROMISE ON THIS.
The GOP must get back to principle.
You betcha!
I'll bet that we'll see a proliferation of "I miss Dubya" bumper stickers before Marxist Obama's assault on freedom and business and jobs and our way of life is complete.
Boy, do I miss W - even though I got angry at him a time or two...
Wait a minute, this is the same guy that said "in order to save the free market we're gonna have to abandon free market principles".
It's beyond me how anyone can love a politician, any of them. They are the fox guarding the henhouse.
If we don’t we die.
Tell the John McCains good bye and hello to those that follow the Constitution.
I don’t want to hear about another of our guys sleeping with someone else. It sets us back years. We know a democrat can sleep with a dead dog and it would be buried in the back pages of a Korean newspaper.
A republican thinks about doing something wrong, it is front page and negative news worthy for several months.
Why don’t you delve into the details of the
urgent confrontation Bernanke and Paulson
had with Pres. Bush, wherein these financial
wizards bulldozed him with impending, worst-
than-the-30’s financial devastation if he
didn’t do something NOW?
We would be further along now into recovery if GW was still President. A downturn was inevitable because of Fannie, but GW would have pulled us out a LOT quicker than is going to happen under O-bowma.
God bless George Bush.
