I've been thinking about learning how to fire a gun, maybe even buying one. Now if you are a lifelong conservative, Red State dweller, and NRA member, you might be thinking, "Big yawn. What's next? She'll be telling us what she had for breakfast?"
So let me try to convey to you the enormousness, the Alice in Wonderland quality of my even posing the question, something I've never, ever considered in my life. No one I know owns a gun. I've never seen a gun (well on a holster of a police officer but I never wanted to get up close and personal with it). I have given lots of good money over the years for gun control. Learning to fire a gun seems as ludicrous as deciding to take up brain surgery.
But, I am rethinking absolutely everything.
You might need it with the Obolution coming
Happiness is a warm gun. Have you hugged yours today? And when it’s 10 P.M., do you know where your gun is? Please don’t let a picture of your gun end up on a milk carton.
Gun control is a nice, tight group.
Good luck to her getting a CCW permit in Berkley! A gun locked up at home won’t protect her from being mugged at lunch again.
LOL;)
Taser? Pepper spray??
Do they need a CCW in Berkeley to carry a Supersoaker filled with pepper spray??
My dear, the reason that your [previous] ideology was absolutely 180 degrees out of phase with reality is that it is based in the “Spirit of Error”, ie, it serves the father of lies, and has no truth in it. It is not based in truth nor in reality.
All sarcasm aside, IIRC California cities require permits for mace or pepper spray.
good lord.
I think I can buy a taser at the mall here in TX
I think the same is true for Chicago.
So, Robin gets mugged and is thing of being Conservative?
She did learn what Mao taught - “(Political) power grows out of the berrel of a gun”.
“I think I can buy a taser at the mall here in TX.”
Actually, in a kiosk in a mall.
I felt the same way about toasters before I took the plunge and bought one.
“I think I can buy a taser at the mall here in TX.”
Or from a pushcart in a mall.
I haven’t yet seen them sold in vending machines in a mall, but you never know. this is Texas after all.
Bump
So what I realized during the talk show is that in places like Berkeley, only the criminals have the power. Not only do they have the power of guns, they are supported by several thousand brainwashed zombies who give the green light to criminals because they are the victims of someone else's "privilege" and "supremacy" and "imperialism."
Such as her "friend" here:
Witness the response of a left wing friend, Judy, when I told her I was mugged. She said, and I quote, "I don't think what you went through was so bad. And anyway he was a victim too."
You can be so open-minded that your brains fall out. But as the author points out, once this mind-set becomes institutionalized any resistance becomes a worse offense than the crime. You're not just threatening the criminal by resisting, you're threatening the comfortable assumptions of your neighbor that she's really safe, safe, that is, except for all this violence, which she deserves. These people are suicidal, a suicide that loves company.
We come into this world alone, and we will leave it alone. When we live our lives in the back seat of the car expecting Daddy to drive us, we only have a child's view of the world.
Oh, she's conservative all right. The rest will follow. I'd happily teach her to shoot, but her neighbors would likely vote to convict her if she defended herself. Get. Out.
The comments made a good point:
Don’t get a gun unless you’re willing to kill another human being to defend yourself. Hesitation can kill you and your family.
You can buy a Tazer or other electric stun weapon in a department store in Texas. :D
I should know, I just bought one at Fry’s and saw one at Walmart.
And they’ve been spotted in 7-11s, too.
Weirdest thing ever seen in a Texas 7-11: Bear spray.
