Lindsay Lohan is wanted for questioning in connection with a jewel heist -- and an expensive one at that.

Scotland Yard is investigating the disappearance of around $500,000 worth of jewels -- earrings and a necklace -- that went missing after an Elle magazine shoot ... and guess who was front and center for the shoot? Our freckle-faced friend.

Scotland Yard wants to question LiLo ...but they're quick to add others are being investigated as well.

Lohan's rep was not immediately available for comment.

I bet she stole the ice. A few weeks back, gossip was that she was broke. One of the reasons she freaked when Ronson dumped her.

I have no sympathy. I never found her attractive.

Leary had been Left his whole life but in reading his autobiography, he still wasn't willing to go full blown Communist (he was disenchanted with liberal groups in the 1940s and 1950s because he'd find among them Communists and FBI both trying to "subvert" the goals of the organizations. But at least his eyes were open to the presence of the Communists.

He seemed to be chasing a new kind of a kick. He'd had problems in college with alcohol parties. And then as a teacher, he happened upon psychotropic experiments. And at first he did seek applications for it. But his objectivity went out the window and he opted instead for just escapism, instant revelation, and monied lecture circuits.

Later in life he was still proud to have tried whatever drugs were in current vogue or experimentation (including animal tranquilizers and even heroin).

He may say that a lot of poor souls misbelieved the hype of the 1960s but Timothy Leary led his share down a wrong path.
