The worst result would be if he made all of us act as he does. Then we would have no complaint with his gutter talk.

Just because he wants to act like a pervert - does not mean we would ever act that way. We have far, far more class than a Letterman.

That's true enough. I just wonder where the line is between being classy and being run over like Liberals always do to us.

I won't resort to the same type of language, but it seems we always extend a fair shake to Libs and pull back a bloody stump.

“We have far, far more class than a Letterman.”

Well, some of us do...but, like Ann Coulter, I believe in fighting fire with fire and that joking around about Dave’s wife having a face like a horse and that his joke about unwed sex can, as in his case, produce a child like his bastard son are all in good fun, like his “humorous” antics are to him...it’s all JUST A JOKE, DAVE!

Having “far more class” cost us the last two elections.

FIGHT FIRE WITH OVERWHELMING FIRE.

Meh. For eight years, George W. Bush was savaged by his critics and treated them with nothing but respect, dignity and decorum.

Somehow, from that, the angry left inferred that they should be able to say anything they want about anyone to the right of Karl Marx, and that there should be no consequence for doing this whatsoever.

We can see from the 2008 election results how well the strategy of "just be nice to the left and they'll respect you" went. The party nominee spent half of his time in the debates praising Democrats and apologizing for being a Republican.

Meanwhile, a couple of generations of voters, who get much of their news from late night talk show hosts, have some sort of impression that conservatives are bigoted, oppressive, sexually-repressed, mean-spirited racists.

Where they get this idea is anyone's guess, but it could be that nobody raised much of a fuss over the last 10,000 "conservatives are bigoted, oppressive, sexually-repressed, mean-spirited racists" jokes spewed forth on national TV.

The angry left certainly never bothers itself with the notion that they might be beating a dead horse or overplaying their hand. I think we need to revisit that policy ourselves.
