To allow this minority viewpoint to overwhelm our education system should make the people ashamed of themselves. To make the people think that we descended from apes is a travesty.

“Strict Darwinian materialists” are an overwhelming majority in the US - not a struggling minority !

Ah those “Darwanists” than enjoy autocracy in education, like those “Curieists” and “Einstinists” and “Copurnicists” — how DARE they demand that science be taught in science studies in school.

They need to leave room for controversial alternative ideas such as alchemy and astrology!

How awful it is when a small number of people control the agenda!

They're not teaching creationism or id in Texas schools.

This "changing in textbook" is semantics

why would a Strict Darwinian materialist be proud of the fact that he has no immaterial consciouseness, no immaterial faculty of reason, and no immaterial faculty of volition?

Sorry, but using majoritarianism and populism is very un-conservative. With half the population having an IQ under 100 (and minority north of 140 who believe in creationist mythology), this is a very weak argument.

You're a good and intelligent person GGG, but on this one, you've lost me, FWIW.
