I can do you all better: I live with someone who is a PT member (Workers Party of Brazil) who loves Obama. Which causes a dilemma as far as marriage is concerned. Do I follow my heart, or endanger America by legalizing another Democrat. Methinks I should continue my attempts to convert her...

Yep. Women are also very active in supporting public school ballot initiatives as well, which bankrupts us at the local level. Add in the fact that women are more likely than men to work at non-profits, and you see the issue we have.

Women instinctively expect someone to take care of them. Some rise above this, and see the dangers, many never will.

Ha, she obviously went to the WRONG schools! You better get out while you can...she will become more Libertarian over time as Obama takes away her rights. That will cause untold problems in the future... You are either in big trouble or just plain LUCKY!...

women significantly more likely than men to identify as Democrats

Thank God I've been married to one for forty years who does not.

Latter-day Lysenkoism. Doubtless if these people would insist to a cow, long enough and firmly enough, that its eyes were blue, the eyes would turn blue.

Agreed. You know, there's another interesting thing.... I truly believe that if you asked a person (no matter what the sex) how they felt about certain subjects, without their knowing WHY you were asking them their opinions, they would answer in Conservative terms.

I think Republicans miss the PR mark every single time. Why we can't seem to get the word out so that people associate their beliefs with our party, I don't know.

I think Conservatives ought to take the Glenn Beck approach and appeal to EVERYONE'S sense of COMMON SENSE.

Makes sense.

Liberalism is an emotion-based political belief, so I can see how a majority of women would be Democrats.

Jack Nicholson Quote from “As Good As It Gets”

Woman: “How do you write women so well?”

Melvin: “I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability.”

I have been a single woman all my life and a republican.

Ditto to that. I suppose since my parents passed away when I was young and I've been on my own ever since, I've learned to fend for myself, and have never even considered turning to Big Nanny Government for help.

But I can see how many women fall into that mentality. For some women I know, it's also the "abortion thing" that drives them into the Democrats' arms, under the mistaken belief that you're not truly a woman unless you wholeheartedly endorse ripping a baby out of your womb.

The sad thing is that her mother is to the right of Michelle Bachmann, albeit within the Brazilian political context. Nevertheless, my GF was raised in a big city on the coast (RDJ), as opposed to her mother, who is from a rural area in the north.

I am probably the only household in America that has pictures displayed prominently of both Ronald Reagan AND Barack Obama, although my picture is bigger. :)

"There are many reasons for this, but one big one is that many single mothers and divorced women view government as “Daddy”, the provider."

Well yeah... After all, they have spent their growing up years in our non-politicized schools..so no worries...

If you have provided them with an early education in ethics, morality, etc. the school system will remove such nonsense.

Yes, I am a bit jaded with the union owned education system...how can you tell..

Oh mercy... Please take down any Obama pictures! Nobody should had to put up with that!

Oh well, I guess that you have to go along to get along... too bad though - you should make a statement now which may change minds...

Wish I had that opportunity myself, but would probably lead to blood-letting...heh...

Bless you... You have done the right thing and your children should grow up with proper ethics and morality. Seems to be one of those things that is missing in today’s public school education.
