Women More Likely to Be Democrats, Regardless of Age
Gallup ^ | 6/12/09 | Frank Newport

PRINCETON, NJ -- A new Gallup analysis of almost 150,000 interviews conducted from January through May of this year sheds new light on the substantial gender gap that exists in American politics today. Not only are women significantly more likely than men to identify as Democrats, and less likely to identify as independents, but -- with only slight variation -- this gap is evident across all ages, from 18 to 85, and within all major racial, ethnic, and marital-status segments of society.

There are many reasons for this, but one big one is that many single mothers and divorced women view government as “Daddy”, the provider. Republicans do ok among married women.

A lady I know was smart enough not to vote for obama but she wasn’t smart enough not to vote for a dem. She wrote in Edwards name because he’s “so smart, knows how to run a business and made a lot of money in business”.

Well, that’s a damn shame! Looks like that makes it even more difficult to find a decent woman to marry - whoops, that is probably also a negative term... Oh well, no wife, no children, just allow the influx of “Americans” to provide cheap labor and also provide for the elderly. Hey, I think that we have this thing down...heh...

Women are more likely to believe in the “good intentions” of liberal programs, without applying the critical thinking to the end result.
Also less likely to question liberal lies regarding cause and effect.
(excuse me while I get into my flame proof suit...)

It’s the “heart” thing.

Just as Justice must be blind and, frankly, heartless in order to be fair, so must government shy from emotion.

The female among us are, by their very nature and hormones, wired for empathy and emotion. Harder for them to be hard, so to speak. And, when rules must be rules, sometimes life and international relations must be hard.

Result of half a century propaganda that Democrat’s “care” for women. Same bad joke is being played on Black Americans.

Another reason to reward the poverty of single Mom-parenthood. . .

Seems Repubs would have a 'target audience' here; beyond Blacks/Hispanics. They had better get busy.

Funny, my wife is very conservative. However, she has a real education (chemist, ops, research, PhD computer science)...so she’s obviously light years ahead of Obrah and her minions.

I have been a single woman all my life and a republican. It is amazing, women do tend to get themselves into a lifestyle where they need the nanny government to help them out. But, once they get extricated from their nanny, many see the error and become much more conservatives, at least among the women I know. I have had a hand in helping several woman see the light and they have become fierce conservatives. All of us need to work on the women we know. Not in a mean way, but by talking sense nicely.

Men, as well as women, are wired to be partnered with the opposite sex. They also are wired to have different roles, and to seek different roles in their partner.

Women seek a protector and provider, and the government has stepped in to take the place of the man, thus enacting a long time strategy of destroying the traditional family.

Every policy of the left has this effect - on purpose.

Liberal programs fulfill the need to do something nurturing and helpful, without having to do it themselves.

HIIII Annie!!!

I think what saved me was Spock being my fav Star Trek character. Emotions get in the way of logic. Estrogen and emotions seem too often to be BFFs.

Don't get me wrong the "nurturers" of the world have their place in the checks and balances dept...WITH an emphasis on balance.

Agree, liberated women who claimed they don't need a man only substituted the government.

Heh... How dare you break down gender into such logical equations... You need to go back (again and again if necessary) to the head shrinking school (okay, any local high school)... You are a shame to your gender even if it is true!

Democrats = Liberals.

The list of women in Congress who are truly conservative is a very, very short list. Must be a gender problem(feelings in heart rather than thoughts in head).

(can anyone name any conservative women in Congress now?)

Yeah, I have inlaws who INSIST that gender identity is just a matter of how a child is raised. Girls are girls because we treat them that way from birth... nonsense.

Did I mention they’re atheists as well?
