There are many reasons for this, but one big one is that many single mothers and divorced women view government as “Daddy”, the provider. Republicans do ok among married women.
Men, as well as women, are wired to be partnered with the opposite sex. They also are wired to have different roles, and to seek different roles in their partner.
Women seek a protector and provider, and the government has stepped in to take the place of the man, thus enacting a long time strategy of destroying the traditional family.
Every policy of the left has this effect - on purpose.
Agree, liberated women who claimed they don't need a man only substituted the government.
Women also have higher EQ then IQ compared to men. (And a stronger EQ can sometime mess up the IQ thingy.....)

Yes, when women look for a husband they look for someone who can and will provide for them. Those without such a man will look to the government as replacement. (I will refrain from suggesting what men look for in a wife).
Republicans used to do OK among married women but this article states this is no longer true.
I’m a married woman, and I think the reason many of my SF Bay Area married women friends are Dems is because they are wealthy enough (whether or not they work) to not be affected by rising taxes. . .of course it is quite unacceptable to be GOP in the SF Bay Area too. It just “isn’t done” in polite company. . .
