Matt Lauer interviewed Gov Sarah Palin today. They talked about the gas pipe line and then got into the Letterman comment (from about the 4:00 minute mark). Sarah told it like it was when Lauer pressed her. Matt tried to excuse Letterman and Sarah said "he was naive" and then he really got interesting! Matt finally had to give in (even thou he tried to defend Letterman). Was great! REALLY WORTH LISTENING TO!

She’s not a “uh, uh, uh dork that needs a prompter.
She doesn’t speak out of both sides of her mouth.
And when she’s through speaking, we know
exactly where she stands.
She doesn’t try to be someone she’s not.
She’s the real deal.

"Ha-ha! Did she bring up that Reagan guy again?"
"Like we've time to listen to that woman
when there are polls to continually monitor!"
"How's my hair look? OK?"
Lauer is too stupid to realize that she made him look like a fool. The sad thing is that the GOP insiders are more stupid than Matt Lauer.

Yes, Matt mostly reins it in for Palin, which I take it is why he’s got repeat interviews with her.
And that's why we can win, even now. :0)
However tepidly, and with a reminder about Limbaugh’s referring to Chelsea as a dog when she was 13, NOW did finally come to Palin’s support. That’s a big step. Oh, and I love Rush, but he was over the line back those many years ago when he made that dog joke too.
He did ask challenging questions and that is as it should be. There should, in the ideal interview, be some *professional* confrontation. Sarah wouldn't let him wander off the ethical journalist's reservation and Lauer reacted appropriately, as I saw it.
“Liberals fear and hate her and constantly make fun of her on tv”
Do you believe they are going to be any easier on whoever our candidate is?
Sarah's been hit with about everything they've got and she's still firing back. I think she'll in a better position now that she doesn't have that ball and chain McCain to carry around anymore. I'm keeping an open mind but she sure looks like a winner. Pit bull with lipstick seems appropriate.
I got the distinct impression that she had generated a little respect from Lauer by the end of the interview. He seemed in awe of her.
Just goes to show what she can do without the stupid restrictions the McCain camp put on her. It was almost like they wanted her to look bad.
You heard right. He was clearly irritated.
I sure she has bigger balls than Lindsay Graham.
She is so awesome!
Lauer is a despicable, biased creep.
After spending time with her family in AK Matt knows, despite not always agreeing with her, that she is authentic, not the politician du jour.
So much for the brilliant analysis from some misguided souls that Palin has been “Quayled”.
I was just going to mention the samething.
I will say Good job Gov. Palin. I would go even farther and say Gov. Palin owned Lauer in the interview. The interview showed Gov. Palin is looking long term when it comes to Nat. Gas. She scoffed at Lauer and the idea of lower gas prices then in turn injected National Security into the mix. That is leadership with a vision. “IF” Gov. Palin can incorporate this type of vision into other policy issues she will be unstoppable. From what I have seen she can and will do it. I am very Happy the REAL SARAH showed up today.
On a related note, the harpies on the view (except Elizabeth) were attempting to defend letterman. Either they are OK with accepting his comments or incredibly stupid to not understand the comments.
