Gov. Sarah Palin and the Today show
Today Show ^

Posted on 06/12/2009 5:12:09 AM PDT by blueyon

Matt Lauer interviewed Gov Sarah Palin today. They talked about the gas pipe line and then got into the Letterman comment (from about the 4:00 minute mark). Sarah told it like it was when Lauer pressed her. Matt tried to excuse Letterman and Sarah said "he was naive" and then he really got interesting! Matt finally had to give in (even thou he tried to defend Letterman). Was great! REALLY WORTH LISTENING TO!

to quote Mark Levin, nothing like a good looking woman with a brain.

...and strong morals, which makes her that more attractive.

Are you using the patch? Very interesting dreams I had with one attached to my arm. Also, water, a lot of water, and exercise, especially when an urge came, helped much.
Quitting is hard, no doubt, but stay focused on the rewards for doing so. Stay with it!

Matt completely missed the point of her statement about keeping Willow away from David Letterman. He assumed she was saying that Letterman was a dirty old man who would do something to Willow. What she really meant was that Willow would kick him in the balls!

Yeh, Matt moved on after Sarah wiped the floor with his lame excuses. Loved it when she pointed out the double standards the media has when it comes to talking about politicians’ families.

Sorry to insult your queen, jla.

I like her as much as anyone, but she spoke extremely fast when describing the Alaskan oil project. But she did fine in the other discouse.

You really need to get a grip on reality. She’s just human, OK, and stating that she spoke a little rapidly is not an attack. I would guess that the majority of the audience did not understand what she was saying on that topic, and it would be to her advantage to slow it down a little. We ALL talk too fast at times.

I think you may be right about that. She is not the bimbo the press tried to make her out to be.

.

She really DID kick Lauer’s a$$!
I like the remark about something to the effect that the daughter shouldn’t be around Letterman, to which Lauer replied, ‘Are you insinuating Letterman couldn’t be trusted around your daughter? Sarah replied, ‘Take that anyway you want..’ LOL
And ‘Apologize to me? No he should apologize to the young women of American’ LOL
.

No, of course she’s not a bimbo. The left sicked their dogs on her (top dog being that s*ut on Saturday Night Live) and trashed her.

Sorry to insult your queen, jla.

I am an American. Last time I looked this country was a Republic, not a Monarchy. Thus, I have, nor recognize, any queens, kings, or other members of royalty. Though I admit to an attraction to Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.

Now, back to your initial post. You statement was inane, as well as inaccurate, and you know this. It does not mean that you are inane, but in the least you could be an adult and state, 'OK, I posted without really thinking', rather than taking a sophomoric shot at me.

Ol' Matt got his a$$ kicked by 2 beautiful conservative women this morning. LMAO.

She can handle herself in any live interview. All the naysayers who say she can't be elected because the MSM will trivialize her...Reagan proved that wrong.

Besides, the MSM will attempt to trivialize anybody who runs against "the one". Go Sarah!

I agree with everyone else who suggested this: this interview should be mandatory for GOP suits *at all levels* — national, state, and local.

I watched the entire interview. It’s certainly worth 11:15 of your time. What Gov. Palin has done is simply hold Lauer to old-fashioned journalism standards, instead of letting him wander off into advocacy journalism. Lauer asked legitimate questions concerning a natural gas pipeline project (which the USA needs, IMHO), and then went over to a line of questioning that usually ends up as advocacy — for the left.

In this “Culture Wars” battle, Gov. Palin mopped the floor with Lauer. The curious part came towards the end of the interview, when Lauer began to concede that Gov. Palin may just have something there with that “double standard” stuff. For a minute or two, Lauer turned into an honest journalist — if that’s not an oxymoron these days.

Anyway, whether this interview could cause the NBC News suits to begin quaking is another matter. If they perceive Lauer as “Soft on Palin”, they could fire him as Today show host, and turn to Olberdork as a replacement. Ugly. After all, Katie Couric’s bosses thought her interview was award-worthy. I’m digressing, though.

Conservative types wishing to move the GOP in that direction need to note — Gov. Palin did not shy away from conservative principle, and stomped the MSM. Hopefully, we will fix the government somewhat in 2010.

AND DON’T FORGET....THE URGE PASSES!!!! That’s what people that are quitting smoking forget to focus on. They only focus on the urge but not that fact that it DOES go away. And they go away faster and faster the more time between not smoking or giving in to the urge.

Stay strong and you’ll get there. There IS a finish line!!
