Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to endorse a two-state solution in a much-heralded speech this weekend, but he may stall on American demands to freeze Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
Feeling the squeeze between the US Administration, which wants a moratorium on settlement growth and a commitment to a Palestinian state, and his national-religious coalition, which favours neither, the Israeli Prime Minister appears likely to try to steer a middle course.
Israeli newspapers were full of speculation about what Mr Netanyahu who has so far refused openly to back a Palestinian state alongside Israel might offer to deflect pressure from Washington. Ehud Barak, his Defence Minister, urged him this week to recognise a Palestinian state, but members of Mr Netanyahus right-wing Likud party have cautioned him against the move.

Used to respect and admire this man but...now? No respect, no admiration. He caved and it was HIS country. How disgusting.
You didn’t read there article in full. Had you done so you would have realized that it is all media generated and opposition party speculation, without any concrete statement by Binyamin Netanyahu.
Geez, we rail at the liying scoundrels of our MSM and then fall for UK leftist crap.
If it’s important to the administration that 4 million Arabs from Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan be relocated to the West Bank and Gaza. And that we develop their economies, which are nonexistant, you’re easily into the $100 billion plus range. If The One insists on cleansing 300,000 Jews from the West Bank, won’t happen, easily double that. At a minimum.
Bibi should announce that he backs a three-state solution, with Gaza being returned to Egypt and the West Bank being returned to Jordan. Problem solved.
Well, not really, since neither Egypt nor Jordan wants all those Palestinians to become citizens of their country, and since it would not meet the conditions set forth by the Palestinians, which are that all Jews in Israel be pushed into the sea. But that’s *their* problem, not Israel’s.
What a dissapointment. I thought he was a real leader and strong. Obviously...I was WAAAAY off base.
Maybe he’ll make a deal if everyone agrees it is time to build the Third Temple.
So you don't want to wait and see what he's actually going to say? You're throwing him under the bus based on speculation from the drive-by media?
Whether a two state solution is the right one, I don't know. I do know Hussein is no friend of Israel...Bibi would do right by resisting his overtures.
From Frantzie on another post. .... anyone else know anything about this?
He is one of them. Just say it Bibi.
1. He lived in Indonesia and prayed as a Muslim.
2. He went for Holy Jihad training in Pakistan as a youth.
3. His family tribe and family are muslims.
4. He is well connected with Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Saudis.
Say it Bibi.
Tell the American Jews who voted for him how they are morons - especially his big supporters like Soros, Geffer, Spielberg and Katzenberg.
You are correct. He has a right to do what he needs to do in his own country. He is a fool if he caves to this administration. I thought they should have taken over the reins of their own destiny even through the Bush administration. They’ll just keep getting pushed and pushed and pushed until they are gone.
I couldn’t agree more.
This is clearly mindless MSM Barbara Streisand.
Obama is really into the human sacrifice thing isn't he?
I believe that he will. I believe that he will believe obama’s lies. But won’t be alone or the first. Nearly 6o million people that voted and call or consider themselves Americans and Christians believed his lies.
I know what you mean but take heart. It's too early to write bibi off. He's a warrior and we haven't heard his speech yet.
For example, even if he talks of a two-state solution, what are the boundaries? What does he ask in return? Is it acceptable to both sides? I'm pretty sure bibi can negotiate with the best of them.
It makes sense that zer0 would bring as much pressure as possible down on Israel but that is perilous, too. His hubris can land him in trouble with our allies whom he needs whether he believes it or not.
There has been much hope and anticipate for Netanyahu’s return to power for many many years.
He better not turn around and sell out Israel again.
Supposedly he learned from the last time.
We will see if this is true or not.
Is the Lord against a two state solution?
Thanks for the ping.It seems like left wing propaganda.
