Joe Klein is a typical Marxist coward and self-loathing Jew. I really wish Jews would stand up like Adam Sandler instead of trying to engage Fascist enemies that only want their destruction.

Klein is right in a sense, but the question is what level of contacts we should have with Hamas. My suggestion: informal contacts with Delta, SEAL teams, and perhaps some Army snipers representing our interests, and Hamas leadership receiving a clear and unambiguous message for their side.

This picture tells you all you need to know about the Palestinians and Hamas' interest in peace.

Who is their enemy?  Israel isn't coming after them.  If they would swear off violence, they would have no natural enemies.  Other Arab states don't stand poised to invade the West Bank or Gaza.

Israel has shown over and over and over again, that it will remove settlements, give back land it captured in battle.  It has offered other enticements as well, but no such luck.  It even gave Gaza self-rule, and what did the Gazans and Hamas do, they brought destruction upon themselves.  Yes, Klein, the reason for the checkpoints, the wall, the roads Palestinians can't use, is terrorism.  What you failed to notice, is that Palestinians living inside Israel can use those roads.  And you can't publicly make note of that, because it frames the Palestinians on the West Bank and Gaze for what they are.  They are malcontents, who bring failure and destruction upon themselves.

Why can't the Palestinians bring in supplies to rebuild?  They can't because they would also bring in WMDs and other armaments with which to attack Israel.  Yes, that mean insufferable Israeli government sure is despicable.  Imagine that, trying to stop their people from being erased from the face of the earth.

One Hamas member makes a slip of the tongue reference to 'Israel' and this clown sees it as a grand gesture of gigantic proportions.  When asked, the Hamas representative tells Klien not to make anything of the use of the word Israel.  So what does Klein do?  Why of course, he makes a big deal out of the use of the word Israel.  Good grief!

As for Hamas' big defeat in Lebanon, that Klein mentions, it is more well entrenched, more well supplied, more ready to kill Israelis than it has ever been.  Now that's what I call a resounding defeat.  NOT!

It isn't Klein's neck on the line here.  It is the survival of a whole nation, all be it a very small nation.  It's a nation that is positioned in the midst of tens of millions of Arabs, Islamacists, and terrorists.  What else do you need to know?
