There’s not anything even remotely conservative about the Republicans in the NY State Senate. They are more friendly with local unions than most Democrats are.

Let us hope that the Left overstepped and is now falling over a cliff.

I hope.

Folks, please get a grip. There are more than a few New York State Republican Senators that are RINOs. MANY of them took campaign money from NYSUT and are beholden to the teacher’s unions.

Not all is as it appears. The dust needs to settle first.

One thing I don’t like is the televised proceeding of the Senate being disrupted during this time. That’s the sort of stuff that happens in other countries...

I’d say Good Riddance to New York and its high taxing socialistic ways.

Lots of their residents say the same thing. They get sick of the taxes, and move out. But when they show up to their new locale, they vote socialist again.

Yes, it’s good... but no, they’re not conservative.

Basically, it allows the Republicans to stop some dangerous bills that have always been proposed in the Assembly, but shot down in the Senate, until recently. This includes pistol microstamping, pistol permit renewals, .50+ cal bullet bans, gay marriage bills, etc that NY was in danger of seeing.

I think you all may be reading too much into this! The article doesn’t say they switched parties. It says they voted with Republicans on the issue to change the leadership. Or did I misinterpret the article?

It does not matter one bit.

The Republicans held the Senate in NY State for 5 decades, and we still live in the most highly taxed and over-regulated State in the Union.

Why Mr. Espada and Mr. Monserrate suddenly defected on Monday afternoon was not immediately clear. Both men are under investigation by the authorities. The state attorney general’s office is investigating a health care agency, Soundview HealthCare Network, that Mr. Espada ran until recently. And Mr. Monserrate, who was indicted on felony assault charges in March stemming from an attack on his companion, would automatically be thrown out of office if convicted.

Well it’s a start lol, after Gillibrand turned out to be such a Schumer lapdog, it was more depressing than normal.
BTW I REALLY loved shoving this down my liberal families throat via facebook. ;)

Please don’t start the “ they all revert to socialist crap” when some of us move out of state.
I’m sick of taxes, have never voted dem and would like to feel welcome if I chose to relocate.
