First the government takes away incentive to do well on your own with the “New Deal”, “Great Society” and other “womb to tomb” BS. Then they cap incomes of those offering “free” healthcare which will all but destroy the program. Raise taxes and lower income. Makes sense (~sarc) Vicious circle for dems.

This would probably affect my Great-Uncle. He’s 95 and lives in California. Hasn’t been in such great health lately.
And the truth of it is it is all unnecessary. If California opened its offshore oil to drilling they would have sufficient tax revenues to fully fund their grand social experiment.
These $2000+ suits are great, instead of implementing obvious, rational solutions, they kick American citizens out to the sidewalk.

How many state employee union members who push paper in government could be cut before they cut pay to the caregivers?

Do away with the program entirely. People need to start taking care of themselves or save for that possibility.

California should have thought about economic impact of all the welfare and programs for citizens and non citizens.
Face it, when everyone is on welfare, and the people who work have to fund it, they take their money and go elsewhere.
What does anyone expect?
Those “care givers” that Schwarzenegger is referring to are members of the SEIU, the ACORN union that was formed to organize the illegals. These union contracts are the same ones that caused Obama to threaten to withdraw stimulus money if they were not upheld. Schwarzenegger has been threatening to make these cuts for a long time. The article claims that the pay is ten something including benefits, but I’m pretty sure that it is ten something plus benefits.
The fact is that an illegal in California would not work for $10.00 an hour without bennies. An illegal nanny in Irvine makes $18-$20 per hour.
Why does California favor illegal aliens over helpless Americans who do need a bit of social help?
It is a shame, but had the system not been so grossly abused there would be plenty to care for the truly needy. The idea of welfare for those who choose not to work is ridiculous.
