BURLINGTON, Vt. Like plenty of other high school students, a group of about a dozen Vermont teenagers trundled into a youth center one day every week this spring to participate in an after-school program.
But their program was different; it focused on gender.
The nine-week program, partially funded by the Burlington School District, was held at Vermont's Queer Youth Center and called "Gendertopia."
Gay, lesbian and straight students discussed a wide range of topics, from the characters in the book and movie "Twilight," to taking photos around the city that show the different ways gender is portrayed in popular culture.

and they do not have to undergo criminal background checks. But the Kiwanis Club does!
Today’s schoolchildren’s grandparents were raised on Dr. Beanjamin Spock, especially if they were born in the U.S. The sins of their grandgrandparents who raised narcissistic kids without restraints are killing their own generations. Those narcissistic kids raised according to Spock are now senior administrators of the school systems, the media, etc. Short of teaching mass murder or being a victim of terrorism, no other trend could so effectively destroy children and their families and their communities and their nation and the world. Our tax dollars are paying for this. Whoever sees this for what it is should be present at school board meetings, writing letters, and protesting this continuously.
My first thought at the headline was Virginia Tech and thusly I was not surprised or even offended (its a college I expect no better) I should have known it was for a HS..
You’re not the only one, my first thought was the shootings really sent the administration over the deep end.
I am not realy sure if this is quite on topic but... I heard recently that scientists had agreed that there is no “Gay Gene”. I think that to any reasoning individual it is obvious that the very presence of a gay gene would go against selection itself. I mean that a gay gene would have to be extremely recessive wouldn’t it? I don’t know much about genetics but I do know that I once lived in the south pacific and I met people from,I think, Tonga. They were pretty obese. I was told that they came from a line of ocean travelers and the people selected to go on these long voyages that they went on were the fat ones because they survived longer without food. Therefore fat became beautiful in their society and then the genetics that tended toward obesity passed on. Point being that genetics that tends toward survival of the species gets passed on doesn’t it? How can one person of a certain sex diddling someone of the same sex tend toward preservation of a species? Wouldn’t that variation be discarded as non-productive? Isn’t it obvious that since gay folk can’t reproduce naturally so long as they have gay relations the gay gene would be discarded as not useful? If it ever existed once upon a time. Just a thought.
