I knew my fellow Americans had taste after all.....
According to a story on Drudge, Conan's 'TONIGHT' ratings drop with every episode...
There is hope for our country....
...... Conan O'Brien's first week behind NBC's "Tonight Show" desk resulted in a strong overall ratings performance that dominated competitors and left critics generally pleased.
But after debuting to record-setting numbers Monday, The Tonight Show audience has shrunk with each successive episode......

I am so glad I gave up on all these people after Johnny left. I know I have missed nothing.

I will not watch that crap anyway because it is NBC and NBC is also MSNBC. They are GE companies and they love Obama. I backed $180 billion in GE debt - with your tax money. GE is a slimy company.

He’s not funny. They should have put Craig Ferguson in the Tonight Show slot - now he’s a riot!

Conan’s opening show was great. I liked the running across America with the music, it worked. Watched his opening that night and it fell.
Watched another episode the other night and it was awful. He is just plain weird, not funny at all. His people put together an occasional funny clip, but that does not include him

Johnny Carson would have some of the strangest people on his show, but he still showed them respect as people.
Whenever I’ve watched O’Brien or Letterman, I’ve gotten the feeling they were making fun of their guests.

Johhny was pretty funny for a liberal - and he did donate to reagan. Leno, Ferguson, Letterman and Conan - all liberals.

Conan's 'TONIGHT' ratings drop with every episode...
So, has NBC chosen the next "Tonight Show" host to replace Conan? Hopefully wo won't have to wait 5 years for the next replacement.

Conan is part of a new generation. However, the new generation does not watch late-night tv.They do, but it's stuff like uncut episodes of Family Guy on Cartoon Network that they're watching.

I haven’t really watched any of these shows in years. I used to watch Letterman years ago (back when it was Paul Schaeffer and the World’s Most Dangerous Band), but Letterman just got progressively worse...more openly leftist, and more just plain un-funny. Never cared for Leno much anyway, but he could be funny. Conan O’Brian just irritates me. Always has. Bizarre.
Now, I have caught Craig Ferguson a few times. He’s freakin’ hilarious.

"Yea, Conan was not the right choice....Should have kept Leno until he croaked. I agree, but in TV it' all about the coveted 18-39 demographic, especially the male 18-39 demographic. And, while Leno was the ratings king, his ideal demographic ratings were just OK. NBC is going to learn that sometimes less-than-ideal ratings are better than weak ratings.
It's like the TV show "Heroes". I don't believe that Heroe's is in the top 25 seasonal ratings, but it commands the 5th highest per-minute commercial rate because of it's demographic appeal. Apparently a 50 year-old's dollar isn't worth as much as a 20 year-old's.

Whenever Ive watched OBrien or Letterman, Ive gotten the feeling they were making fun of their guests.
While I've gotten that impression from Letterman (who was remarkably funny in the 12:30 slot back in the '80s but is now a cranky old man), I've never seen Conan make fun of a guest. He's far too busy making fun of himself, Max Weinberg, Joel Goddard, Pierre Bernard, and other members of his cast.
Maybe it's a generational thing - Leno was not funny to me. Boring and past his prime. Conan at 12:30 was brilliant. Maybe it'll take him a bit to adjust to the 11:30 slot - remember that Leno regularly lost in the ratings until he scored an interview with Hugh Grant right after Grant's hooker arrest. Conan's strength isn't the monologue - it's the bits and gags. He'll be great.
