Beware! That folding knife in your pocket may turn you into a criminal if the Obama administration gets its way. Although there has been a lot of fear and speculation that the new administration wants to take your guns, the most pressing threat now is actually to your pocket knives. With the changing of the guard at U.S. Customs, that agency has now embarked on redefining "switchblades" under federal law to include a wide variety of one hand opening knives that never were intended to be prohibited. In fact, many of the knives U.S. Customs now seek to prohibit under the Federal Switchblade Law had not even been invented at the time of its enactment!
This new proposed U.S. Customs regulation is so broad that thousands of pocket knives will fall under its sweep and millions of knife owners will be affected. The problem is not simply that imports will be banned (which is bad enough), but that the "agency determination" will be used by domestic courts and law enforcement to determine what a "switchblade" is under both federal and state laws. Many states, including New Hampshire, fail to define switchblades and simply rely on the federal definition.

Yes, it is.
Maybe I am. For me there isn't any difference in the net result whether it is the government itself or the people in it who are the problem. I tend to go with George Washington's ideas on it in that government is a terrible servant and a worse master, and the people in charge are surely not the same today as they were in his time.
Glenn is smart, too, and knows and respects Sowell. What do you want to bet Sowell will be making more appearances with Beck?
Only been to NJ once, when I was in college to pick up a buddy's car and drive it home. He lived in Princeton and we got dropped off by some other friends on their way to New York. We crossed the Jersey Turnpike on foot, across the barrier and into the woods on the other side. A brief hike and we were at his home. He said we'd committed an offense that could've brought a fine of $10,000 for crossing the road! That's why I'll never live north of the Mason-Dixon Line, unless it's Idaho.
I love Glenn’s passion for America. Years ago, we got his radio show here. Then there was his CNN(ew) show that I tuned into, and thankfully now he is totally unleashed on Fox. He is on at a bad time for me 4pm central. And Fox doesn’t do a repeat it until way late like 2am. I remember some of Glenn’s comedy bits he’d insert into the radio show, like the “isolated incident” song, the duct tape to the head cure so our heads don’t explode, etc. He’s so funny. He needs that humor to keep from being too depressed about the serious (I mean series) things we are facing. I check into the daily Glenn Beck Show threads on FR.
Thanks, I’m keeping that one!

This is a stiletto
This is a one handed opening pocket knife
Hey feds, see the differences?
Spears are very useful. I have hundreds planted point up just inside the moat around my manse.
I am trying hard to move. Looks like DE is where I want to go. I still can see my older children & grandchildren within a 3 hr or less drive. NJ is just so corrupt & the laws stink. You can’t protect yourself or your home etc. Taxes are way too high. I have to get out of here.
Great post!
Too many people have done way too little for way too long. They deserve to lose their freedom; maybe a taste of the lash will wake the lazy b*st*rds up. And if not, oh well.
America -- a great idea, didn't last.
The frog has been boiled, my friend.
In an enclosed and secure environment such as a prison it is illegal to have a knife. The funny thing is every HOKEY TV show on prisons always show the Cons making “shivs” out of something. As for guns back in the 50s street punks were making ZIP guns out of car aerials. Time magazine did at least two stories on ZIP guns.
We got, and remain, lazy. I've worked over two decades on political campaigns trying to prevent this stuff, and time after time I saw us going down to defeat because we had way too few contributors, way too few volunteers.
All that noise you hear "Molon Labe" and all the rest, is nothing but hollow empty noise made by folks who haven't done a thing, who aren't about to start now, and who never will. There will be no revolt, just acquiescence to the coming enslavement.
America -- a great idea, didn't last.
We aren't "citizens" anymore, comrade.
America -- a great idea, didn't last.
“descended” is the key word in that quote. We have descended far indeed.
