WICHITA, Kan. -- Dr. George Tiller, a Kansas man who became one of the most famous figures in the national debate over abortion, was shot and killed at his church Sunday morning, KAKE-TV reported.
Tiller was walking into Reformation Lutheran Church at 10:03 a.m., when he was shot.
Tiller was pronounced dead when emergency crews arrived, the station reported.
Police were looking for a blue Ford Taurus with a K-State vanity plate, license number 225 BAB. Police described him as a white male in his 50's or 60's, 6'1," 220 lbs, wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
The best pot so far in this thread!!!
Who cares what he says about FR. He has his own snakes to kill...
sw
In other words, you all think it's smart to tremble at what the baby-killers will think?I care very little what they think. I care very much about what they'll *do*. Obama and his posse are in charge right now. if you don't think that Obama and gang aren't going to come down like a ton of bricks on the anti-abortion movement(and thereby the conservative base) you've got another thing coming.Sorry, I can't buy that.
Remember that felons can't vote and pretty soon it will be a crime to be conservative.
Well, you got 99 posts on this thread. That’s a pretty strong approval rating over the posting nazis.
The fact that the deceased made his living killing babies should not make his murder any more egregious.
I'd argue that since he valued life with such disdain, that I can understand how some might take solace in the fact that we has murdered.
A Time for Everything
1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboreth?
10 ¶ I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.
14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
That’s a sweeping statement. Outside of this particular issue do you oppose snipers?
On the abortion issue I have always taken a competing rights perspective in that the unborn at some point had more right to live than the woman had to control her body. A later term abortion would clearly be infringing upon the rights of a baby that could survive outside the body.
For those passionate about the pro life movement I see this as a setback. The media will seize upon this just like they do when there is a shooting and they go after gun rights.
Wow,, 3 minutes late. Wonder had he been on time and already inside, if the NUT intended to walk inside and shoot him sitting in the pew?
On hearing the news, that was probably one of the first thoughts of many on this list.
Actually, wouldn't this be a better argument for allowing armed security in churches?
He will till no more in the bloody garden of evisceration.
Hopefully he is. The sooner this is over with the better.
Are you intentionally obtuse, or are you just out of touch with reality?
No, I was not including acts necessary in war or in self defense...
amen
What kind of “church” was this? The Wright kind?
No, thats in a vampire movie. In reality, christians (and Jesus)want sinners to find their way in the church house door. And as often as they want decide to.
yes
