In a CNN segment this morning on the Obamas’ New York night out, co-anchor T.J. Holmes went out of his way to defend the the First Couple’s Big Apple jaunt and dismiss GOP criticism as so much partisan carping.
Holmes and co-anchor Betty Nguyen covered the Obamas’ date night at the top of the 6 AM hour today, and in comment after comment Holmes left no doubt that his heart was with the presidential pair.

If he takes little trips than fine, but if he takes the whole month of August that is a problem. I don’t know why there is so much interest in this. Every President takes breaks but I don’t remember much media discussion on this.
He’s a brutha. Can do no wrong.

There is so much going on in the country nd the world right now and he’s always jetting off somewhere. When he was elected he couldn’t wait to roll up his sleeves and get to work. Yet he’s hardly ever in the WH working. He’s always campaigning. So far this week he’s been in Hollywood, Vegas and NYC. Still waiting for those 3 million jobs he promised.....

This had nothing to do with his job and if you or anyone else did this you would receive a 1099 form for the trip and related expenses. Zero won an election not the lottery.
As a taxpayer I demand he pay the cost of this trip!
Did either of them mention the high cost of the trip that is picked up by the taxpayers? Even if the Obamas reimburse for the cost of the jets and the helos they personally used for the Friday trip, there is still a large chunk of change that remains unreimbursed.
Did CNN’s news jockeys mention that at all?
The problem is that Dear Leader is such an obvious hypocrite. He tells us we’re in a recession. He tell us we have to effectively destroy our economy because of the dire effects of global warming. We’re supposed to walk and bike whenever possible to “save the earth.” Yet this past week he spewed more carbon in one week that most people do in a year by taking TWO unnecessary flights: one for a democrat fundraiser and the second flight for a DATE NIGHT?
He wants it both ways and apparently the media and the sheeple are on board with that. They think there is an unlimited amount of taxpayer money to be cherrypicked at will. It’s like the American taxpayer is their own private money tree. This is not sustainable. When it collapses it is going to be ugly. Cause the people who are used to getting the free stuff are going to start taking it BY FORCE from the citizens who have lived lives of delayed gratification.
Obama loves the glamor. It’s only been a couple months. He loves eating well, loves the attention, loves the parties. Boy,, if only someone from the inside would get some photos of this guy drinking, smoking and eating the expensive steaks.
His press protects him well.
Again....transparency wins the day.

This guy is absolutely pathetic. Obama could go berserk and kill his own children and this fool would find some kind of excuse for our Dear Leader. It is all about race and little more.
The Republicans must know that a vast majority of the MSM will defend the Obama’s “night out” and a majority of Americans will approve. The GOP should pick their battles more carefully. They come across on this one as being petty. I just hope they have as much energy in the Sotomyer hearings as they appear to have with this.
