Obama's Battle With the Liberal Wing of the Democratic Party
U.S. News ^ | May 28, 2009 | Kenneth T. Walsh

Four decades ago, the liberal, antiwar wing of the Democratic Party helped to force President Lyndon B. Johnson from office. Specifically, Johnson decided not to run for re-election in 1968 in large part because of rising primary challenges and increasingly vitriolic demonstrations against him.

One chant that was heard often at anti-Vietnam War rallies was "Hey, hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?"

The level of anger now is nowhere close to that level, but there are warning signs that President Obama is starting to generate serious opposition on the fiery left. There is increasing unease about his sending 21,000 more troops into Afghanistan, which some compare to the early escalations in Vietnam.

Watching a “battle” between a hardcore Marxist and a bunch of liberal retards is going to be a real hoot.

These are the crap stories that are published to make The Kenyan look like a moderate. Liberals had someone more liberal in the wings to run for the presidency when LBJ abondoned his chance to run in ‘68. If the left is dissatisfied with Zero, who the heck would be a better, more liberal, choice that could run and win and please the leftists in this country? No one.

This is total disinformation. It’s a shame that USN&WR is more “Pravda” than the actual Pravda.

Obama's Battle With the Liberal Wing of the Democratic Party

By that do they mean Obama's terrorist appeasing, pro-infanticide socialists vs. run-of-the-mill anti-American liberals like Nancy Pelosi?

The curse of LBJ lives. 2009 version.

You know if you really try to fight a war, the “code pink” types destroy you.

you know this, so you try to half fight a war. well, more Americans die. the war drags out. Jimmy and Kelly who shop at Wal-Mart turn against you and wonder why their family members have to sacraficed in a war that becomes meaningless if we are not trying to win..

End result..

Democratic party chokes and falls apart under political pressure.

The writing is on the wall.

President Palin will have a mess to deal with.

Its a smoke screen. The left wingers are trying to convince people that there are people further left than Obama.
which would make Obama a model of a moderate fluffed up by the MSM.
There may be a few ultra left wingers. But in reality Obama and his cronies are the far left wingers that need to be watched like an Eagle.

White House advisers add that Obama will be pushed only so far to the left, and with good reason. Only 19 percent of Americans, after all, identify themselves as liberal, compared with 36 percent who say they are moderate and 41 percent who say they are conservative, according to the latest poll by Democracy Corps, a Democratic think tank.

Still, the next few months will be a time of testing. How many compromises will Obama accept on healthcare and on legislation designed to limit global warming and reduce U.S. reliance on foreign oil? How far will he go in courting conservatives on issues ranging from national security to abortion? Is he sliding ever deeper into a morass in Afghanistan, as LBJ did in Vietnam early in his presidency? [Read about Obama's challenges in Afghanistan]

I hate how Yahoo screws up its printer friendly page. Thanks for posting.

Oh, please... Leftists are the battered wives of politics.

The more that 0bama beats them up by copying former President Bush’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq...the more that 0bama browbeats them by using military tribunals...the more that 0bama betrays them by voting for Telecom Immunity...the more that 0bama lies to them about using public campaign funds instead of record levels of private monies...the more that 0bama stabs them by packing his Administration with scores of tax cheats and lobbyists...

...the more that the liberals will love him. He’s the disfunctional dad and husband that the kiddies never had and always wanted.

So forget some left-wing assault on 0bama. Won’t happen. Just like the beaten wife, they’ll run back to 0bama even if it means trampling over their own friends, dignity, and principles to get back to him...begging...on their knees.

Here, Here! He’s the darling of the lefties. It’s the country-loving Democrats (there are a few) who are drawing a breath.

This is clear evidence that many Americans don't even know where in the political spectrum they fall. There is no way B Hussein would have won the election if these numbers represented where Americans really fell in the political spectrum.

“Obama’s Battle With the Liberal Wing of the Democratic Party”
++++++++++

Good point - what, is Obama is battling himself? Is he having some inner angst - having a dualing battle between some leftist demons within?

Tis all positioning propoganda from the ‘free press’ (ha!) - laying down cover fire for bammy bam bam to do his thing.

Unless there was a massive deception and coverup about who Obammy really was and a huge full court press by the press to get him elected...oh yeah...there was.

I take this article with a rather sizable grain of salt.

1) The far left is never going to abandon 0bama. He’s far more in sync with them than either Clinton or Gore was. They may grumble about him a bit, but they aren’t going anywhere on election day.

2) 0bama’s “moderate” stances have mostly been a case of picking his battles. He knows he can’t pull out of Iraq or Afghanistan without immediate disastrous consequences. On matters where he has a free hand or running under the political radar, 0bama has been decidedly liberal. It’s the leftist agenda served up piecemeal instead of in one sweeping manifesto.
