Obama to 'voice concerns' in Egypt speech By Sam Youngman Posted: 05/29/09 07:58 PM [ET] In his major address to the Muslim community from Cairo University in Egypt next week, President Obama "will voice concerns" of the U.S. but also try to "change the conversation."

Senior administration officials said on a conference call Friday night that Obama's speechwriter said the speech "will be an important part of his engagement with the Muslim world."

The officials said the president will also discuss issues of concern when meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with King Abdullah from "energy to Middle East peace to the fight against extremism," and Obama "will not hesitate to bring up some of the important civil society issues."

"You have a president who's not afraid to engage on various tough issues," Deputy National Security Adviser Mark Lippert said.

While in Egypt, Obama will speak to a wide array of "political players," and National Security Council spokesman Denis McDonough said he will also be "reaching out to and engaging with journalists" from the country.

Agreed. I'm not sure if Michelle makes me miss Hillary, though. It's close.

I wish this was all a dream, and I could wake up that day in November to see McCain/Palin instead of Odumbo.

I said from the outset that Obama was a sorry s.o.b. but he may be the sorriest s.o.b. we’ve ever had to endure as POTUS

I guarantee Obama will voice concerns about the United States when he grovels to the Muslim world.
Again.

I can picture him sitting or kneeling before mubarak, bobbing his little head forward and backward just like he did as a young muslim boy in indonesia.

“Voi..(ssss)..e con..(sss).ern..(ssss).”

Does anyone find the pronunciation ‘as though talking through ill-fitting dentures’ just a little annoying? Along with his ‘Potomac colloquialisms’?

What a bunch of BS. He is truly an embarrassment to the country. The problem is, he is in a position to get us into real trouble.

President Obama "will voice concerns" of the U.S.

But not really. No way he'll mention (for example) the persecutions of the Coptic Christians in Egypt.
