Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly worded appeal to block her nomination.
O'Reilly noted Malkin's reaction made on Fox and Friends this morning and Robinson's comments which were posted on Free Republic and e-mailed to The Factor.
O'Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O'Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.
Hot Air complained that the comment singled out by O'Reilly was labeled a 'blog' entry rather than a comment, thereby leaving the impression it was made by one of the site's official posters.
Jim Robinson's response was boiled down to Jim calling O'Reilly "an elitist gasbag" and noting that offending comments sometimes get past the moderators. O'Reilly did not inform his viewers that Mr. Robinson is a diabetic who has lost family to the disease.
The segment aired about forty minutes into the program tonight.
FR threads one and two.
Video of last night's Factor segment.
Michelle Malkin on Fox and Friends.
somebody had/has anger issues....tsk, tsk
Who the hell IS that person?
I really like 3-2-1 Beck!
O’Reilly is always sucking up for that next interview.
He can’t dis Obie, he might not get him on the show again.
He also is disdainful of Palin because she has not granted him exclusive interviews.
He thinks he is a kingmaker. Palin would have done better if she only would have come on the BOR SHOW.
That’s exactly how I see O’Reilly too, you nailed it!
I really like 3-2-1 Beck!
I do too...he’s the ONLY person i hang my hat on in the media.
Thanks for posting this update. I did not catch this on O’Reilly because after his last attack on FR, I decided to not watch him.
It is really too bad O’Reilly has decided to do this. Although, I can’t say that I always agreed or disagreed with him on most issues, I was a regular viewer of his show.
My entire family has decided not to support his program any further. We are tired of being called “right wing nut jobs” and all of the various other assorted garbage that O’Reilly and others call us. Most importantly, we are tired of his attacks on Free Republic.
Soooo, goodbye BOR....you have relegated yourself into the heap with NBC, MSNBC, CNN and etc....and I am really tired of the disrespect. I guess you don’t need viewers to keep you on the air. Bye Bye!!
Great bumper sticker RM. Love it!
snippy
Excellent post.

Exclusive: A Letter to Rupert Murdoch on the Obama Birth Certificate Question
FOX has changed over the last four years and is not as good at reporting what needs to be reported as they were in the beginning.
As for O'REALLY, time to stop watching, boycott the advertisers, write FOX. Eventually, Fox will get the message and put Glenn Beck in his place.
Me and my wife do, too. We spent years listening to his shows on KFI radio in Los Angeles. Nobody on air covers a topic so thoroughly or morally and logically as Dennis Prager.
Well, that ought to be pretty easy for him since no one ever goes to his site. What a loser.
The guy has lost it. Look at his Quote of the Day.
"Politics is about perception. Right now, the Republican party is perceived to be the domain of rich white guys. Of course, that's not entirely true, but very often perception trumps reality. America needs two, maybe three strong political parties so the country can have healthy debate. We also need voters to be open-minded, not ideological Kool-Aid drinkers. The Republicans can only get back in the game if they widen their appeal and appeal for common sense."
I've got news for you Bill. The evil of "Identity Politics" is bread and butter for the left, and they are the ones promoting it, exploiting it, and perpetuating it.
Do you really think that if "white guys" simply bowed down and groveled some more, all of that sin by their side would simply go away?
O'Reilly has simply lost it. I watched him try to castigate Glenn Beck on the air for making money. Beck was appalled. He slapped O'Reilly back, saying FOX News paid "crap", and there was no money left for anyone there because O'Reilly demanded it all.
I agree totally, regarding Beck. He is so far around the bend, he’d fit better on “Coast to Coast” with the freaks and loons they feature.
.
I posted this in JimRobs thread on the subject
he(O’Reilly) has his conservative moments....then reverts to some leftist tack....He blows up at scumbags like Barney Fag, but for the wrong reasons(though I enjoyed immensely his dressing down of the queer legislator).
He tends to be rather dumb...although I tend to agree with him a good chunk of the time....probably by serendipity.
he is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle etc. etc.
Thanks JimRob for dressing him down
As he would say: "I'm an elitist gasbag and that's not a good thing! Don't be a gasbag! That's left for only me."
