Re: Your on-air bashing of Free Republic
So, you think that because one poster on FR comments that a diabetic supreme court nominee might not live to a ripe old age that all 350,000 of us are insensitive right-wing loons?
Got news for you pal. The owner of Free Republic (namely me) is diabetic and I've already lost one leg due to this despicable disease and the other leg looks like it's ready to fall off any day now. My sister died of complications brought on by juvenile diabetes at the tender age 43. I've out-lived her in years, but I don't think I'll be signing on to any life term judgeships. And I sure as hell wouldn't wish this disease on anyone else.
Hey, what can I say. My political enemies make fun of the one-legged old gimp every day of the week. Good thing I'm not as sensitive as you about such nonsensical non-issues.
And if it's impossible for a minority to be racist, then it's impossible for a diabetic to be insensitive. /sarc
But, I do agree with you on one thing. We FReepers are a bunch of right-wing loons, bitterly clinging to our guns and religion. And proud of it you elitist gasbag!

Free Speech dittos.
Good luck and best wishes for you and your family with your struggle. I did not see O’Reilly’s comments but will look for them.
O’Reilly neeeds to understand the analogy that what Rinos are to conservatives in the GOP he is to FR, IOW, we’re the driving force, he’s just along for the ride.
Good one, Mr. Robinson. And I am sorry you suffer with diabetes.
Bravo! Bravo!
He's a self absorbed gasbag.
But you're OK with that?
WOOOHOOO Jim!
Then a few seconds later he read another quote "from another crazy right-wing blog"....thanks, Bill.
The dummy woman who's a regular commentator on the subject of "the Internet" and who was on with him for the FR segment tonight was just as bad, agreeing with his diatribes against "hate sites". This completely vacuous know-nothing-ette always agrees with everything he bloviates on because she obviously doesn't want to lose her sinecure on his show.
I've been regularly dissecting and analyzing BOR since the election and posting my observations here. My last post was on keyword "Obama's bid to supress", comment # 35.
Here I point out how the weasely O'Reilly has been defending Obama on nearly every single show since election. He even read an email tonight from a viewer who wondered why he always defends the usurper. She got a flip answer and the usual winning leprechaun smile.
Scratch the populist O'Reilly deep enough you'll find a populist liberal. He is, like Obama, an extremely crafty and effective communicator. His mantra of "being fair and balanced" and "presenting both sides" is presented smoothly to the uninformed. The problem is he's not grounded in any firmly-rooted political, economical or historical convictions because, like Obama, he's first and foremost narcissistic, everything on his TV programs revolves around HIS views and HIS emotional feelings on issues.
And if his guest pundits disagree with him, whether it's a right or left viewpoint, they are cut off midsentence and he moves on, because HIS view is the final authority. So, "fair and balanced" really means it's his guest's position versus his OWN position, not right/wrong.
I have studied this man's techniques. I've watched and noted the techniques he uses to control debate and remain in power over his participants.
Because he attacks and detests FR, compounded by the fact he gives the impression to the viewing audience that the entire FR "blog" is hateful, it doesn't take a Philadelphia lawyer to conclude that he loathes FR undoubtedly because he feels he is "bigger" and more "important" than a lowly "blog" site. Perhaps it might be because he looks over his shoulder wondering if some unafraid freeper may some day take him down like one our members did to Dan Rather.
Finally, since those hard-hitting rightists, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, have taken over two one-hour time slots and Greta is getting more conservative every night, Bill now has no where to go to avoid being a ditto to these three stars. His ego couldn't stand it.
So, having no chance to be a unique conservative star at Fox any more, he's neatly slipped to the left of Hannity and Beck and has ensconced himself as the "moderate", "centrist", "independent" and he can now reign alone in that position.
O'Reilly is as "moderate" as Alan Colmes is conservative.....only more clever, purposefully charming and smoother. At least Colmes is honest as to where he stands, and he doesn't play to both sides as does O'Reilly.
Why do you think BOR has mostly conservative pundits on every show? It gives him a chance to pooh-pooh their observations, knock down their conservative talking points and overtalk them with no respect for allowing us to hear what's being said.
Did you see last week when he was upholding the liberal position with Ollie North and then, later, Laura Ingraham.....both of whom were so deeply disgusted with him that the camera caught each of them with glowering, tense, taut faces....and then, LOL, the camera caught each actually ROLLING their eyes heavenward when O'R delivered his final, arrogant words before cutting off the debates.
Leni
Send him an email.....Jeff Head did so I did too.
Preach on, Brother
Woa nelly, you really told him off. I’m sure now he’ll regard you and those of us who post on this forum as calm and rational conservatives who discuss issues and problems with maturity and wisdom. Then again.....probably not.
I didn’t catch his show tonight but I hope to see or at least read the transcript. O’Reilly has made it known that he does not have much use for the Internet so any research that is done is most likely done by those who work for him. Because this website is a conservative website it would make sense that it is being looked at in order to read about what conservatives are saying about the important issues of the day.
Of course this is not my website, but if it were, I would have contacted Mr. O’Reilly in a respectful way and explained the situation. Not all posts can be caught, not all posts reflect the opinion of the majority of posters, etc. I would think that if a person or a group didn’t want to be considered a bunch of collective wackos, then the intelligent thing to do would be not to act like a raving wacko.
I watch BOR just about every day. I agree with his opinions as often as I disagree with them. Those who say he has given Obama a pass either aren’t watching his show or are missing a good deal of it. In my opinion, this forum would have been wiser to respectfully contact O’Reilly and explain how one comment does not reflect the views of the vast majority of those who post here.
I Emailed OReilly with the same question. Open up your forums/emails from your listeners and let me determine whether or not your show is one of hate/racism ..... !
OReilley is a little man.
I feel sad for the little man, because he knows damn well that he is conservative...but he sells out his principles every once in awhile so that he can claim he is “fair and balanced”.
That is pathetic O’Reilley.
Your God is the God of Ratings, your principle is the principle of the finger in the air.
In essence BOR is no better than the corrupt politicians he makes his living off of.
PS: Yes you beat MSNBC, but honestly, I could beat them with a Ham Radio and a ham sandwich...so bfd.
Tear him a new one, Jim.
I don’t have television (since 1997) and have only listened to him on the radio a few times (under ten). My impression was that his “schtich” is to come across as a “thinking moderate” but in reality is scared to death to have a “real opinion” even when the facts scream its validity from the rooftops.
IOW, I could not take him seriously.
Sure, it is about ratings to all of them to one degree or another, but he overplayed his hand.
Jim, thanks for drawing one of the first lines in the sand! May the leadership of the GOP have the guts and spine and love of our country as do Freepers.
BOR is as despicable as Jerry Springer and as hooked on sensationalism as Larry King. Forget him.
