If lotteries are a tax on stupidity, lottery scams are a tax on cupidity. Cupidity compounded with stupidity.

Yep, Jamaican women are among the most beautiful in the world. But any idiot that sends money to “claim” a lottery they never entered or even bought a ticket for deserves to be ripped off.

That reminds me of the old joke: A drunk walks up to the door of a house of ill repute and knocks on the door and says, “I want to get screwed!”. A voice says, “Slip $50 under the door.” After a few minutes, the drunk pounds on the door and said, “I said I want to get screwed!” The voice comes back, “Again?”

I was going to wire you some money but then I noticed you misspelled Caribbean and I figured it had to be a scam.

I just cannot feel sorry for people who are taken in by these scams; greed overpowers their common sense.

Yes, greed for most. I worry about the elderly who just don’t have the ability to understand what’s going.

They may also be poor and about to become even poorer. Sad.

You ever run across this story from last November? Possibly the greatest lapse of common sense I've ever read when it comes to scams.

I agree with you about the elderly, and I can feel sorry for them. The generation that lived through the Great Depression and WWII is so trusting because they themselves, as a whole, are so honest.
