Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama's pick to become the newest Supreme Court justice, is on the record with some controversial remarks about 'diversity,' 'judicial activism' and female judges vs. male judges.
For example, the New York Times reported that in 2001, at the annual Judge Mario G. Olmos Law and Cultural Diversity Lecture, Sotomayor had this to say:
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
“Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences,” she said later, regarding non-white, female judges, “our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging.”
Also, there is a 2005 video of Sotomayor, speaking with potential law clerks, saying that a “court of appeals is where policy is made.” She added: “And I know — I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we don’t make law. I know. O.K. I know. I’m not promoting it. I’m not advocating it ...”

I can’t believe he chose her knowing that video was all over the place. I think he figures she won’t be confirmed, then he will make his 2nd choice, the far more radical Kagan. I cannot stress how much I loathe the usurper in chief.

It’s always the groups that have built nothing, invented nothing, accomplished virtually nothing, who always talk about how “proud” they are to be a member of that group. Some never left the stone age, had no written language, no math, not even the wheel. Why they are proud is a mystery.
That is what it sounded like when he said it. I had not seen her picture before.
BTW did you notice that she is as white as Obama's mother?
One more thing, she has supported and spoken at an organization called "La Raza", which means "The Race". To me that is the functional equivalent of the White Aryan Nation.
Yes, Sotomayor is clearly a racist.
In this case Ms. Sotomayor clearly believes that her racial makeup is superior to that of white males.
She is likewise a sexist as she touts the superiority of women (of which she is one) and denigrates those who are male.
There is no double standard to which liberals will be held accountable.
Why the hell did Bush 41 put her on the district court?
We can blame Clinton and Obama all we want, but Reagan and Bush 41 set the stage for the current court with nominations of O’Connor, Souter, Breyer, and who knows how many appellate and district court judges that are on a “rocket ship”, as Limbaugh would say, to the high court.
