The US has given warning to North Korea that it will 'pay a price' for its aggression after it launched two more missiles a day after an underground nuclear test.
Susan Rice, the US ambassador to the United Nations, issued the warning amid an increasingly bitter stand off between Washington and Pyongyang and as the UN Security Council discussed what further action could be taken to stem North Korea's belligerence.
A surface-to-air missile and a surface-to-ship missile were fired from North Korea's east coast on Tuesday, just hours after President Barack telephoned the leaders of South Korea and Japan to reassure them that he would protect them in the event of any attack.
The North Korean government said that it was clear that America's "hostile policy" of the Bush era had not changed.
"Our army and people are fully ready for battle ... against any reckless US attempt for a pre-emptive attack," it said in a statement.
The new launches came a day after the regime tested a nuclear bomb estimated to be the same size as the ones dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War. Pyongyang also fired three short-range missiles off its east coast on Monday.
It is unclear whether the missiles were test-launches, or whether North Korea is trying to deter US spy planes from hovering above its military installations.
The rogue state has also warned ships to stay clear of its east coast, and is now warning that its west coast should also be avoided, suggesting that further missile launches are planned.
"The North is continuing its sabre-rattling," an unnamed South Korean Defence official told the Yonhap news agency, without clarifying the possible intent of the missiles. South Korean intelligence has identified "brisk activity" along the coast line, as the North manoeuvres its

Kim: “Oooh I’m shaking now. Do you have any idea how f’ing busy I am?”
Does anyone believe that North Korea will ‘pay a price’ for this? hahaha...more empty rhetoric.
The US has given warning to North Korea that it will ‘pay a price’ for its aggression ....
Don’chu mess wid Susan Rice, you fisheyed fools ... Do you know who I AM?
What are we gonna do? Give’em a paper cut?
Cut off their cognac supplies.
‘Does anyone believe that North Korea will pay a price for this?’
Well, I don’t see any iPods heading to the North Korean leader any time soon. In this administration, that’s known as a ‘rebuke’.
WWTD? (What would Truman do?)
Tell them to give up their nuclear program or face the most serious consequences, to wit:
On Monday, we will drop a nuke onto your 20th largest city.
On Tuesday, we will drop a nuke onto your 19th largest city.
Repeat until they capitulate or until there is really nothing left to discuss.
Then call Mr. Achmedinejad and explain how this works.
hahaha
We’re not taking it anymore. We’re not gonna pal around with you anymore or party with you anymore.
"Oh, darn, I won't get to be invited to the White House to hold hands with Obama and sing Kum Ba Yah. Oh, well, I've got more weapons to build and more missles to develop".

U.S. to Respond to North Korea with Strongest Possible Adjectives’
Obama: We are Prepared to Consult Thesaurus
One day after North Korea launched a successful test of a nuclear weapon, President Obama said that the United States was prepared to respond to the threat with “the strongest possible adjectives.”
In remarks to reporters at the White House, Mr. Obama said that North Korea should fear the “full force and might of the United States’ arsenal of adjectives” and called the missile test “reckless, reprehensible, objectionable, senseless, egregious and condemnable.”
Standing at the President’s side, Vice President Joseph Biden weighed in with some tough adjectives of his own, branding North Korean President Kim Jong-Il “totally wack and illin’.”
Later in the day, Defense Secretary Robert Gates called the North Korean nuclear test “supercilious and jejune,” leading some in diplomatic circles to worry that the U.S. might be running out of appropriate adjectives with which to craft its response.
But President Obama attempted to calm those fears, saying that the United States was prepared to “scour the thesaurus” to come up with additional adjectives and was “prepared to use adverbs” if necessary.
“Let’s be clear: we are not taking adverbs off the table,” Mr. Obama said. “If the need arises, we will use them forcefully, aggressively, swiftly, overwhelmingly and commandingly.”
“You’re bweaking my bawls, Barwack, you’re bweaking my bawls.”
Then call Mr. Achmedinejad and explain how this works.
So what now, is Obama going to tax them too?
