WASHINGTON — Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says he's still a Republican, but the party needs to change and be more inclusive.

Powell is a moderate Republican who says he endorsed Democrat Barack Obama over Republican John McCain for president because he thought Obama was the better candidate.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney and radio personality Rush Limbaugh have openly mocked Powell's political leanings – questioning whether he still is in the GOP.

It’s only unfortunate for you, because you have been exposed as a racist that votes according to race even when it means voting for an anti-American, Kenyan Marxist, one who would not place his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, but would bow before a Moslem potentate.

Well said.

that won’t happen. Cheney’s been vocal but not a peep from Bush and that’s by design.

The Republican Party could be more inclusive if more minorities and gays could bring themselves to act more out of principle than self-interest, love of country rather than love of self, idealism rather than self-centeredness.

Sorry, that's just how I see it. I know that they have it in them but I fear only pain brought on by economic calamity or military attack will finally wake them up.

Notice no one in the MSM asks him which beliefs he holds in common with the Republicans. Unless he can name off a whole string of common beliefs, he’s fraud perpetrating an inside job.

"...the party needs to change and be more inclusive. "

I wish just one of these RINO turkeys would furnish a list of just what we are EXclusive of?

What - in their liberal minds - do we not include that ruffles their feathers?

It's like Ann Coulter said, "If democrats had any brains, they'd be republicans". If we "inclusive" of the things that colon Powell and commiebama are embracing and promoting, WE WOULDN'T BE REPUBLICAN OR CONSERVATIVE, WE'D BE DEMOCRATS.

I guess this plastic general means we have to do the following to be "more inclusive":

1 - Vow alligence to obama
2 - Support abortion
3 - Disavow our religion
4 - Forget content of character, just vote for color
5 - Ban Guns
6 - Raise Taxes
7 - Forget the Constitution
8 - Honor Jimmy Carter
9 - Support Socialism
10 - Illegal Alien Amnesty
11 - Disavow Israel
12 - Support ACORN
13 - Villify and destroy George Bush
14 - Go Totally Green

Who knows what else...

Colon Powell speaks for no one except Colon Powell. He has lost his honor.

I think the republican party should include folks who a want smaller, less intrusive government, folks who want lower taxes, folks who love this country and folks who love the constitution - that’d be a good bunch to let into the party.

They are already lapdogs and doormats. Who does he want? A bunch of Nelson Rockefellers? This clown is a cheerleader at a funeral. Our party is dead because of listening to human rodents like this guy.

“Powell: In GOP, says party must be more inclusive”

Does that mean including those that vote for candidates based only on the color of their skin?

Powell is a ROTSO - Republican On Talk Shows Only. He gets to slam his (so-called) own party without debate. And then live his real life as a liberal.

He slammed Limbaugh, Cheney and Republicans. He praised Obama, Specter and Dems. But he’s a republican.

What a joke.

"He more likely than not voted for Obama."

He DID vote for zero. Powell said so himself.

He slammed Sarah Palin too.

That is unforgivable to many of us.

I wish he hadn’t made this statement the other day.

Powell has played the Repubicans like a fiddle for over 20 years.

Despite being pro-choice, our party still entertained thoughts he was this nearly perfect Republican candidate. The Presidency was his if he chose to run. He played cute with Republicans when was considering running for President, but then said he was scared of getting assasinated, no doubt in his mind by a crazed, racist, right wing Republican.

When he chose Obama over his good buddy RINO McCain, that proved once and for all he’s not a conservative. He’s been a Republican imposter his whole career. I bet he gets along very well with Arlen Specter.

Powell thinks the GOP ought to change? I do hope he likes the change his president brought to DC? Unlimited spending, no transpency or openess as promised and being a genuinely dishonest president. We will not even get into the scumbag Democrat congress

Black first; Republican second; military a distant third.

I had thought better--MUCH better--of Powell, at one time. Then he was replaced as SOS....

He couldn't make a case for what he's suggesting demanding to save his life. Meaghan "Like... ya know" McQueeg articulates the moderates' meme better than this wind-up doll (sorry, Colin... wind-up figure).
