'Record' Afghanistan drugs bust
International and Afghan troops have killed 60 militants and made a record drugs haul in an operation in southern Afghanistan, the US military has said.

We have wanted to do so for years. However, the “Afgani” government will not allow it. Payoffs and other corruption in Afgani government circles?
The hard part is getting these people to shift from growing poppies to something else. It is like trying to get an American ghetto dwelling youth to take a job for minimum wage at McDonalds verses selling drugs on the street. The youth can make more in one week selling drugs than a year working at McDonalds. The same problem exists with the Afgani farmers...poppies make big money....no other crop comes close. I’m not even sure if another crop is even feasible there. This is a tough nut to crack, and our military personnel are having to crack it.
