Does anyone else think Kris Allen, who was very good won American Idol over Adam Lambert who was great because Red Staters siad "No!" to Lmabert for reasons other than talent? Lambert is the best ever on the show, but I think he was denied because Red State America has had "enough." I hope I'm wrong, just thinking out loud.
Size queen for queers.
Glad you're comfortable with your lifestyle.
You’re too slow to be a Freeper. I am talking about YOUR lifestyle, ret....
Perhaps it's you who is the slow one. Make sure your partner wears a raincoat so you don't catch something.
Hah! You need to see a brain surgeon to have your brain examined. There is something seriously wrong with your head, probably too damaged for thinking soooooooo hard. I am a woman who has been married to a wonderful man for 15 years, and have 3 wonderful children. Get a life. And EVEN if I am gay, what is wrong with someone’s sexual preference. I don’t condone it, but I won’t put down someone just because of their sexual preferences. Doing so is just moronic. And you are, in my opinion, one of these pathetic people. I hope you don’t end up with having gay/lesbian children. Get an f*&&king life!
Absolutely!
Was is you that pointed out that AI has Adam with KISS and Queen, two band FROM THE PAST, and Kris with Keith Urban, SOMEONE THAT IS CURRENT? I think the observation is spot on.
This is the same case in Dancing with the Stars (which I happened to watch.) The judges were all rooting for Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke from the begining of the show, till the end. They had declared them winners from Day 1. In the end, Shawnn Johnson and Mark Ballas won because they were the underdogs. They were not as good as Gilles and Cheryl but I think the audience voted for them since they always got criticisms from the judges.
You’re being kind. I honestly think America (or, more specifically, America’s Danny Gokey fans, who possibly defected to Kris’s side after Gokey left and effectively bridged that million-vote gap between Adam and Kris) got it very wrong here.
I will just take solace in the fact that a) Adam Lambert will get a record deal anyway; b) not winning may allow Adam to have more creative control over his debut album, and thus he’ll release more genuinely freak-flag-flying material; c) Adam won’t have to release that insipid “No Boundaries” as his first single; and d) Adam will probably outsell Kris in the long run.
For what it’s worth: Adam’s “Mad World” is #4 on digital downloads, while Kris’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” is at #6.
And boom Boom Pow is #3 Barf gag
Well, I voted for Shawn and Kris. My votes weren’t reactionary in either case. For DWTS, it was Mark and Shawn’s freestyle that won me over. On Idol, Kris won me over early on with his wonderful arrangements, good voice, and subdued manner.
- I never made the initial post
- You complained about people not using their brains and spoiling it for those on the west coast (which was true)
- I noted the irony of your post, in that it is very common for folks in your state to spoil IMPORTANT things for the rest of us
- You attacked me (pea brain)
- I made a comment with that you were a size queen because your "pea brain" comment was derogatory to my alleged brain size
- You then made a comment "size queen for queers"
- I said I'm "glad your comfortable with your lifestyle"
- You accused me of being dumb and then said the queer comment was about MY lifestyle
- Then you have the ignorance of accusing ME of being homophobic. LOL
Why don't you just get a grip. Or perhaps a job in the left-wing media since you have been fighting this argument without even understanding it, have based your entire point of view on a fallacy and have taken your prejudices and attempted to make them mine.
BTW, my original comment stands. It is EXTREMELY ironic that someone from Califormia has the audacity to complain that people from other parts of the country are spoiling things for them. The post immediately following mine (Jewbacca) noted the same thing, yet you attacked me.
So I made a comment about the irony of your comment and you proceeded to attack me, even going as far as to call me queer, but somehow I'm the one who has a problem with gays. I myself have been married for almost 18 years and have two brilliant, conservative children.
We all have to live with the crap that comes out of California and you found out who won American Idol before you saw the show. I guess that makes us even /sarcasm
If you were one tenth as smart and as conservative as you think you are perhaps you would have done like we did in my household. We were at a choir concert for one of my daughters during the show and we went out for dinner after it was over. Since we were not home during the show and would be watching it on DVR we made sure that we never turned on the news or discussed the show with anyone so as to not have the outcome spoiled for us (conservative are responsible for themselves). You, with your typical California liberal attitude, think that this is the responsibility of others. If either of us is to slow to be a Freeper, it's you, not me.
Which one of us was dumb enough to expose themselves to the outcome before we saw it for ourselves?
I do both!
Your observation may be right. It does seem that the Red State/Blue State breakdown we’ve seen in the past three Presidential elections reasserted itself for this talent show. In fact, a left-leaning celebrity article made this very point. Kris Allen, the short, married, mild-mannered Christian worship leader at his church, played much better with the Bush/McCain states. While Adam Lambert carries a tune very well, many found him to be over the top.
Kris’s voice isn’t strong; he won’t go far. Nice guy, but I don’t see him having the talent to become a super star.
I never watched American idol, this year I payed attention a little for the first time. I didn’t really look closely at Lambert, I saw on DU something like “Stand against Freeper bigotry, Vote for Adam Lambert”, then I noticed the eyeliner, and while he hasn’t admitted it, the pictures online prove that he is obviously gay.
Yes it cost him votes.
Injecting some politics made it much more interesting to me.
I forgot the mention, everyone mentioned the “underdog factor” as a reason Kris won. Lambert was practically a ringer in what’s supposed to be an amateur competition.
Kriss voice isnt strong; he wont go far. Nice guy, but I dont see him having the talent to become a super star.”
If you saw Kris on Huckabee singing yesterday, you had a perfect example of his ability.
Nice voice, but not overly inspiring. His rendition wouldn’t have made it in the competition....
Good luck to a good guy, but for me/wife Adam was the superior talent.
I agree totally. Kris does not have a voice that is memorable and I predict he won’t make it very far. Voice is just too weak. I don’t know how he won to be perfectly frank.
