Crushed Lemur Monkey is an Insult to the Evolution Hoax
American Daily Review ^ | 05/20/09 | Yomin Postelnik

Posted on 05/20/2009 12:19:27 PM PDT by Yomin Postelnik

In the latest act of media hyped pseudo-science, aka liberal/conventional science, the discovery of the crushed and flattened fossil of a lemur monkey, that while alive had a shattered left wrist, is being touted as the needed “proof” of Darwinian theory.

For the first time, all scientists interviewed freely admit that the theory of evolution had gaping holes in it. They just claim that all of the answers lie in the packaged, crush fossil that spent the last 20 years hanging on someone’s wall. In other words, they admit that until yesterday, anyone who claimed that there was anything close to conclusive proof of evolutionary was wrong, despite having sold that line for decades. The extent of the absurdity of their new “proof” will be outlined below.

The media, which specializes in hyping the ordinary, went as far as to call this spectacle the possible eighth wonder of the world. These are the same crowd that revels in referring to every new president (regardless of party) as the next possible Lincoln or FDR, every foreign leader the next possible Churchill and every Vice President of the United States…. Well, I guess there are some things that even today’s media cannot hype.

A very funny bit from the movie “Gettysburg”:

Major General George E. Pickett: Sirs, perhaps there are those among you who believe you are descended from a [sic] ape. I suppose there may even be those among you who believe that I am descended from a [sic] ape. But I challenge the man to step forward who believes that General Robert E. Lee is descended from a [sic] ape.

it was posted I belive yesterday on the drudge report as 8th wonder of the world. thats my citation. looks like a crushed something, but not my great grand daddy. dam evilutionists think I am some moneky decendant,

Who are you? I never claimed you were a "moneky decendant"!

I asked the author/poster of this to cite the origins for all the strawmen he constructed in his article.

He did not do that, nor did you, but I didn't ask you. You didn't write it.

I also would like to know how you "insult a hoax." Maybe you can answer that one!

Now, let us not be hasty. There may be some value in this evolutionary theory. If the monkey had a broken wrist, how would it open its beer? Huh? Answer me that! Thus, the evolution of the opposable big toe. It makes perfect sense, the monkey holds the beer with his now functional foot and opens it with his still functional right hand, the beer gets opened and drunk. By the third or forth beer, humanity emerges and, once again, the theory of evolution is vindicated. So there, all you fundamentalist extremist whackos, refute THAT! I dare you!

And straw monkey is the ancestor of straw man.

Evolution is a lot more viable than the belief that living things appear magically out of nowhere.

Do you have any clue just what a non sequitur that is? Staunch Darwinsts would be appalled. For years, when creationists would point out the impossibility of spontaneous generation, Dwarnists would ridicule that as confusing the origins of life with the development of life. You can't play the game if you don't know the rules! :)

I thought that was funny too, how last week the evolutionists ridiculed people who said the evidence was lacking, and now they are all about how great is is we finally found the evidence.

Of course, the idea of “ancestor” means something different to these people. I guess by their standards I stepped on my cousin yesterday.

An odd definition of viable, since regardless of the belief in evolution or not, in truth living things did appear magically out of nowhere.

by a loose definition of the term “magic”, which can also describe where each of us “came from”, little one-celled organisms growing into functional human beings.

To begin with, the extra toe is similar to the myriads of monkeys who are born with extra digits. Periostitis may be a factor as well (i.e. the bone may have been inflamed). In any case, the fossil is crushed. And those would be valid points if there was any validity to the claim that the lemur fossil even qualifies for consideration as a transitional form.

Admittedly not having read any other article on this fossil and only looking at the x-ray here, I do not see where this fossil could be qualified as unusual or a missing link.

The only thing I see worth comment is the left paw which has what may look like an opposable thumb, but in a crushed fossil how can you consider that as any indisputable proof.

In other words “Where’s the beef?”

Let’s ask the Admin how much in the way of contributions FR receives from anti-scientific and creationist posters. Whatever it is, show the numbers so we can match and FORCE those topics into a side channel. I have been lax in contributing so far, but watching this b.s. take over FR makes me really, really angry.

chillout, i did answer the 8th wonder thing for you. you asked on a public forum, you got a public answer. the 8th wonder thing I saw with my own eyes on drudge report. dont have a link, that was the other day, it is gone now.

I am dhm914 it is on my title

i never claimed, you claimed i was a monkey decendant.

a hoax can be insulting. i find it insulting that someone would suggest i am evolved from such a creature. that is how I am insulted by the hoax. a hoax is a lie, it insults me to be lied to. that is why I am insulted by a hoax.
I did not ask you to not ask me, so I gave you an answer, my apology for that.

You must have missed the thread a couple of days ago where about a half dozen Freeper geocentrists showed up and started attacking the idea of a heliocentric solar system as anti-Biblical. It is indeed getting bad here.

We can take the place back. It means coughing up dough, however. These people are truly opposed to FR’s mission, imo.

Does anyone here know how scientists who believe in evolution explain the fact that there have been so few transitional primate fossils discovered? Thanks.

I’m not going to get into the debate about who contributes vs. who doesn’t, but if you want to, go for it.

I haven’t contributed since about April 2005. I simply refuse to contribute to, or enable the kind of nonsense I saw on this site at that time. Nowadays I just ignore those people. Their haughty echo chamber is irrelevant.
