Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today promised to make severe state budget reductions in education, health care and law enforcement.

He forgot libraries.

Protected are state commissions, liberal green projects, special studies in progress, the cost of illegal immigrants...

Why don't we try cutting services to the illegals and children of illegals? Let's see how much money is saved there. After that, let's demand birth certificates at public schools and deny entry to those who cannot prove citizenship. After that, deny public medical care, pre-school benefits, and food subsidies to illegals. Health and human services amounts to more than 29 billion in expendatures. Lots and lots to cut there.

When we're done there, let's cut off all the payments to the parents for "anchor babies". The, start charging, out of state college tuition rates to all those in our universities who cannot prove legal residency in California.

Finally, let's reduce salaries of all non-medical, non-teacher, police, fire dept., and correctional state employess. All pension contributions by the state should be immediately halted and if the stat employees want pensions, let them pay for THEMSELVES like the rest of us in the private sector. Lengthen the time of qualification for any state pension and prohibit any double pension dipping by any state employee or politician.

Bet California could get a handle on the deficit very quickly...
