PITTSBURGH -- James Harrison plans to pass on another trip to the White House with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Harrison, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, says he'll skip the Super Bowl champion's visit to the White House to meet President Barack Obama on Thursday, just as he did when the Steelers were honored by President George W. Bush in June 2006.

Look for James Harrison to get the Carrie Prejean treatment the next couple of days from the Sports Media and some of the left-wing media rags.
I think he's being consistant since he didn't go after they won Super Bowl XL when Pres Bush was in office.
I will give Obama some credit, he has good taste in football teams that he likes my Steelers and my 2nd favorite Chicago Bears.
OK.....everybody pony up ten bucks and let’s get this FReepathon over....
Thanks.
Steelers got lucky against the Ravens. Twice!
They can dis him all they want......he uses force to gain recognition. He hits folks hard for a living. He breaks thangs right proper. All they can do is talk bad about him while he makes lots of money doing what he does best.
Their squeaking won’t phase the guy IMO !
Stay safe !
Obama has come out stating he likes the Steelers and the Bears - two teams with history and lots of it, and you want to give him credit? Why???? If this was the late 1980’s to the mid 90’s and he claimed to be a 49er fan, I’d not find anything favorable about that at all (and I’ve been a 9er fan since age 7 (43 years now). Given his political policies, there is not reason to make statements giving the man credit for choosing two teams with storied records.
Obama’s had a pretty good run with his sports teams, the Bears and Steelers are 2-1 in the last 4 super bowls, the White Sox won the Series in 2005, and UNC won the NCAA. He also thinks we should have a Natl Football Championship instead of the BCS.
Good for James. He’s not making a political statement per se, and it pleases me to know he didn’t go see Bush and now won’t go see Obama. The guy just isn’t impressed with either of them. Interesting.
And??? So??? As if he’s the only one in the US who can make those claims or the only one who has commented on a Natl title game. Big deal. He’s still a Marxist who wants the Feds to have total control over all aspects of our lives. I’m baffled by your comments - as if this man’s positions regarding a sporting event makes him someone to look up to. If he were to somehow lose his position as President tomorrow the country would be better off (provided we don’t get Biden or Pelosi in his place.)
already posted by yours truly earlier today.
keep dreamin
Sorry rintense, just a Steeler fan and since Obama was rooting for my team during the playoffs I thought this was interesting that one of our stars wasn’t going to see him especially since Dan Rooney loves Obama, but Dan knows how to run a professional sports franchise.
There are 300 million people in this country and only a relative handful ever get to visit the White House as a guest of the President. People who are invited should see it for what it is - a tremendous privilege. If one is invited to the White House, one should go and be gracious and respectful. I didn't like this when it happened to Bush, and I'm just as sour when it happens to Obama.
Soldier Dad, I agree with you that Obama is a marxist as Mark Levin would say. Maybe credit was the wrong word, Obama agrees with me on some sports teams and the football championship game.
He may be your president not mine. I didn’t swear allegiance to him. Besides, it’s Anderson’s right if he doesn’t want to go to visit the occupant of the white house. I know I sure the hell wouldn’t.
James Harrison is being consistant, he didn’t go for either President as of now. We’ll see how much pressure he gets to show up the next 2 days.
Anderson’s = Harrison’s. Thinking about someone else.
Now that he’s making big bucks, and Barack gonna tax the shit out of him - he’s telling B.O., who ain’t so cool, but a taxing fool - Don’t tax me bro!
Zero will be the first President ever that’s made me wish that the south had won the war.
If I was invited, I’d use the opportunity to call out Zero for what he is. A traitor that quite possibly isn’t an authentic citizen. Turn the visit down? That would be the minimum I’d do.
Rooney was a total a$$ for what he did, I have no respect for him now. If he was laying in the gutter on fire.....
Porter was an a$$ too but wisely kept his ignorant mouth shut at the WH.
