DNA tests have revealed that a 13-year-old British boy who claimed to have fathered a child with his 15-year-old girlfriend was not the dad, according to a court judgement made public Monday.
Claims that baby-faced schoolboy Alfie Patten made Chantelle Steadman pregnant when he was aged just 12 triggered national soul-searching about Britain's high level of teenage pregnancies.
But the story, reported in February just days after the birth, sparked claims from other boys who lived nearby that they could also be the father and social workers organised a DNA test.

No kidding. When I was growing up the boys would have all kept their mouths shut! This is a distressing situation however. I fear the UK is completely lost.

Amazing how much the British press ran with that story without any verification whatsoever. I remember the moment it broke, many of us here took one look at the prepubescent "father" and immediately raised the B.S. flag.
Now DNA confirms what we knew all along. Wow. Who'da thunk it?
Obviously this kid has no idea what being a father is about.
He should be extremely relieved that he is not the father.
This close call should make him keep his pants zipped until he is twenty-five if he has a brain in his head.
But then of course the Leftist in this world have done all they can to remove responsibility from the lives of individuals.
So why should anyone be surprised it the kids of today are out there procreating at ever younger ages.
They already know that they will not have to be financially responsible for the child.
But the fact that she can’t keep her legs closed, and he DID in fact have sex with her doesn’t make it any less tragic.

I remember that article way back then. It showed a baby-faced boy who said he was the father and the girl was a bit older than he was. He was “so sincere” (given that he was such a little boy) that he was going to take care of that baby...
And I remember a number of posters wondering if that kid was enough old enough to be able to physically father a child. Some mentioned getting a DNA test to prove paternity. I guess they did and now he’s not the father any more...
