Today, David Plouffe sent out an urgent message with an update on the fast brewing healthcare battle:
We knew healthcare reform would face fierce opposition and its begun. As we speak, the same people behind the notorious "swiftboat" ads of 2004 are already pumping millions of dollars into deceptive television ads. Their plan is simple: torpedo healthcare reform before it sees the light of day by scaring the public and distorting the Presidents approach.
We need the resources to take them head on with an urgent, grassroots campaign to pass real healthcare reform in 2009.
When the swiftboaters flood the airwaves with distortions, well flood the streets with volunteers armed with facts. When they send lobbyists to tell Congress to back down, well send millions of calls, letters, and stories from real Americans asking them to stand up.
Please donate $5 or more by midnight Sunday to fight back against these phony attacks and take our message of reform to the American people.
The swiftboaters are once again trying to sell the American people short. As during the election, we deserve a serious conversation not fear-mongering and deceit. You and I see the importance of healthcare reform every day. We cant miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to face one of Americas greatest challenges head on.
Passing real healthcare reform will be the toughest, most important challenge weve faced together since electing Barack Obama President.
But its also a big reason we fought so hard to get here. I know that by working together, and speaking with one, determined voice, we can prevail over the cynics and defenders of the status quo. Americas families are counting on us to do just that.
I don’t know who first proposed the idea, but IMO, it is quite simply calling nationalized health care “health rationing”, and calling it ONLY that, and repeating it over and over.
Swiftboat...Nothing...We need to WATERBOARD the whole “Universal Health Care” crowd...
wow.. a “weasel wordfest” all in one email...
Proof? We don't need no stinkin proof.
Where can I donate to the Swiftboaters? I cannot find their website. I may not have a job at the moment, but I might scrape up $5 for them.
Someone needs to take this deceiving son of a female dog out to the wood shed and explain what a deception is, in no uncertain terms.
“wow.. a weasel wordfest all in one email...”
Yeah...it’s like a liberal buzzword clown car...
I gave Jim O’Neil $100 in 2004. We need him to make up the ads for this battle.
Bring on the swiftboater ads. Swiftboating means “to tell the truth”. Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy LIED to smear their political opponents.

Well, that would a pretty good response to you guys waterboarding the health care system of the United States. Remember what the whole Swiftboating thing was about: It was getting the truth out about that utter creep Kerry. He has NEVER been able to demonstrate anywhere that what they said about him was not true.
And the same is true of Barry's plans for health care: there is no way that the same class of dishonest and incompetent fools who screwed over the United States through the illegalities at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or failed to pay their own personal taxes will ever be able to effectively manage a health care system for which they have absolutely no expertise at all.
The plan of Barry and his friends for health care (and for the rest of the U.S. economy, especially energy policy) is complete lunacy. It's been tried many places in the civilized world and has been found to be a miserable failure. Trying to take away my health care to implement a system of government rationing I take to be a declaration of unremitting hostility; that and adding to my costs by the scientifically fraudulent cap and trade, letting the Bush tax cuts lapse, and that moronic alteration of withholding to make me think I got a whopping dollar or so a day "tax rebate" when I'll actually have to pay taxes on it on next April.
I will encourage everyone I know to resist this crap and, come November 2010, hobble the feet of those trying to shuffle us off toward this brave, not-so-new, dystopia.
“Here’s my reply to Plouffe’s email:”
Geez.....you should speak your mind, instead of being so wishy washy... ;^)
Healthcare Rationing is exactly what it is. Just ask the Brits.
“That’s actually quite good. When arguing with a lib, call it Health Rationing. It really says it all in just two words.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is EXACTLY what is needed, the 2-neuron reply. And unfortunately it’s very rare to find in and among the topics that concern FReepers. But in this case, here it is.
Think about it. Where [else] have we been able to do this? You could set out the most logically coherent argument about terrorism, or Iraq, complete with footnotes and UN resolution numbers, but all a moonbat has to do is to pipe up “Cheney!”. “Halliburton!”. “Waterboarding”.
Very effective.
When someone points out the fallacies in the arguments, the real world consequences in other countries where this has been applied, lists the real costs, or describes the process on how resources would be distributed and who the decision makers become, you're entering questionable territory according to those open minded advocating this socialist system (There I go, I committed a sin. I used the word socialism to describe the idea of government run and centrally planned operations.). All you're apparently allowed to do is talk in generalities and niceties and not even call things by their actual textbook names because of the obvious negative connotation. Nice, newspeak is in effect.

This constant symbolism reminds me of an early political party that was based on party loyalty and around a cult figure. And, for some reason, his health care logo reminds me of this:
Good job!
Be Ever Vigilant!
Sorry, it’s not us. The swifties stood down after the 2004 election and our organization is inactive. This is just the MSM and left looking for a convenient boogyman to blame.
