Aside from African Americans, the most solid voting bloc the Democrats have is the Jewish vote and this has been the case for nearly a century.

They are all big issues since socialists have been using all these issues( and more) to destroy our Democratic Republic.

I am sorry if you took my comment to mean abortion is small. I was saying that Obama will “progress” the state to expand to directly taking more classes of innocent life. Maybe the Vatican is PUBLICAlLY staying out of one battle - Obama speaking. There will be much for the Vatican to hollar loudly about - direct Fedral action towards the abortion of the young and abortion of the infirmed and handicapped.

The 12,000 that were there seemed to applaud Obama loudly. They also did that “YES WE CAN” and “WE ARE N.D.” to silence the few protesters inside the commencement. 75% of the American Bishops refused to sign the anti Obama petition and the Vatican was also silent on allowing Obama to speak.

Just outta curiosity, you wanna explain to all us non-papists out here in flyover country just why it is that Rome is so loathe to excommunicate these baby-murdering summabeeyotches?

In all honesty, for a religion which claims to worship at the altar of a doctrine of works, I can't think of a single, substantive concrete act which Ratzinger has taken to prevent the ongoing descent of the Roman church into nihilism & extinction.

Yes, yet I remain shocked over what I saw and heard today.

Part of this is me venting out of complete disappointment. I haven’t been in a Catholic Church in over four decades except a couple weekends ago to see one of my granddaughters receive her first Communion.

For a good long time I have been longing to return to the Church and I recently found a Catholic discussion forum to search for answers that may help me decide.

A fellow FReeper, whom I have great respect and admiration for, caused me to begin the journey— without him knowing it, when he shared with FR his moving adventures of this past Christmas.

After todays disgusting display of hypocrisy, I doubt that I will ever return to the Church. I am a very strong person in many ways and always have been, but not on this. God may forgive those that support and continue to MURDER babies, but with all that is known about abortion today, I don’t know how to and I have no inclination to learn.

So now, I am going to go work on building a chicken coop...

The Vatican is NOT silent. It had already spoken out on this matter. No one can receive an award when they don’t agree with Church Teaching.

That’s very sad.
The Church is made of men, who make mistakes.

You have given up your opportunity to share in the Body and Blood of Christ.

If you don’t believe that, then yes, you need to be somewhere else.

Personally, I am disappointed that the Vatican only spoke out and did not do something. But the Lord works in mysterious ways. Something will come of it.

I will take a look at this and labor over it, but right now, it’s chicken coop building time. ;>)
