Agreeing with you . . .
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places. - Ephesians 6:12

It was freaking UNBELIEVABLE he used that speech on that platform at Notre Dame to serve up that whopper about stem cell research and diabetes. He was talking about murdering embryos for Frakenstein research experiments on the Notre Dame campus! And some students CHEERED! It was like something from a Robert Hugh Benson novel. (Lord of the World)
Here's the relevant text from Obama's speech:
............."The soldier and the lawyer may both love this country with equal passion, and yet reach very different conclusions on the specific steps needed to protect us from harm. The gay activist and the evangelical pastor may both deplore the ravages of HIV/AIDS, but find themselves unable to bridge the cultural divide that might unite their efforts. Those who speak out against stem cell research may be rooted in admirable conviction about the sacredness of life, but so are the parents of a child with juvenile diabetes who are convinced that their son's or daughter's hardships can be relieved. "..................
It is pure moral relativism vs. moral principle. Obama is trying to say there is no moral sin here, just a difference of opinion on what's more valuable: an embryo or a living child? Who wouldn't want their child's life to be improved? If a few embryos are destroyed, where's the harm? Noone wanted those embryos anyway. The problem is that this argument leads to further and further ethical issues with each line that is crossed. Where does it end?

In his own mind B.O. had to articulate the abortion debate in his terms, thus framing the arguments to his satisfaction. The protests and the preliminaries were an affront to his ego. Had he given a traditional commencement speech, he would have lost the bully pulpit opportunity and possibly have been accused of avoiding the topic. So all those grads worried about losing their commencement to the controversy had to endure the O trying to out-debate the majority of Americans.

Thank you. I skipped the whole thing in protest and in the interest of not developing a huge drinking problem.
Invoking Bernardin certainly isn't going to win the hearts of orthodox Catholics. Even JPII waited until he died to get things done. Bernardin...well, let's just say I'm NOT a fan.

It's a variation of a utilitarian argument.
But Obama did try to blur and distort moral issues, calling for open and fair-minded opinion (i.e., liberal opinion), implying that some sort of pluralism, relativism, openness, and diversity are the higher moral ground. And that those who oppose such a view are "parochial." Or those who "demonize" their opponents. He appealed to reason and doubt, claiming it is better to doubt and be open. These are not "open" issues for Christians. He was promoting liberalism, abortion, and embryonic stem cell research on the platform at Notre Dame and Jenkins was enabling him in that in direct conflict with the bishops' guidelines. Obama was honored and given a platform and he used it to promote immoral and evil policies.

Maybe I am really losing it and I am Catholic but they both look really gay. I really wonder about Obama’s sexuality at times maybe those rumors are true AND MAYBE HE IS BI.

“For those who don’t know, the woman to the left of Fr. Weslin is Norma McCorvey, the “Roe” in Roe vs. Wade. The police turned her away and refused to arrest her along with everyone else.”
I’d like to know who told the police not to arrest McCorvey.

All obama has to do is say hes against abortion and his followers believe him. Well, it fits the pattern.
He said his name is Barak Hussein Obama and he is believed.
Never mind that the only document we have seen from his past has his name as Barry Soetoro.
He says he was born in Hawaii and all the sheeple defend his claim.
No matter that there is nothing out there to support said claim, but there is plenty to support a Kenyan birth.
Now he says he is against abortion so that will be taken as the gospel truth.
Regardless of his THIN resume, he does have an 8 year IL state sInate record and 2-3 years in the US sInate and there is a record of his votes and his EO's since 1-20-09 to totally discount what he says today.

It is possible to be SO open minded that your brain falls out.True. Mike McConnell of WLW radio in Cincinnati has often said that if you open your mind too far, all kinds of garbage tends to seep in.

The way I heard it is that she made the decision herself not to be arrested yesterday. The “trespassers” get a warning and are allowed to leave before they are arrested. You do know she was arrested today?

Why would it sound that way ~ the topic is Notre Dame, a bunch of priests, and members of the RC church. No reason any of them can't be Christians.
On the other hand, if they believe in abortion, or are noncommital about it, then they can't be Christians. Same for Protestants. Same for Moslems. Same for Buddhists.
The pro- and anti- life dichotomy reaches over and beyond all religions.
The fundamental idea behind abortion is that you can make life better for adults by killing the innocent unborn.
I rather reject the idea that our young are just food.
