Caucus: Two Groups Plan Dodd Protest May 16, 2009 Two groups critical of U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd are planning protests today.
Members of Dump Chris Dodd will gather at Griffin Hospital in Derby at 10:30 a.m. Dodd, U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-3rd District, and Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform, are to appear at the hospital to discuss health care reform.
A separate anti-Dodd group, Connecticut Resistance, will hold a rally outside Dodd's Hartford office on Lewis Street around noon.

The Chris Dodd reclamation project is in full swing, but even Dodd admits its an iffy proposition.
Facing all-time low approval ratings as he heads into the 2010 election, Sen. Dodd (D-Conn.) is reinventing himself to the voters hes represented for almost 30 years.
The old Chris Dodd would have been on all the cable news and Sunday morning talk shows and shaking hands at glitzy D.C. events. The new Chris Dodd is doing more local events, keeping a low national profile and hoping that he has enough time to recover before Election Day.
But he also candidly admits it could be too little, too late. He acknowledges hes been beaten down pretty hard, and while others say the party is rallying around him, Dodd said he hasnt made significant progress yet with Connecticuts voters.
Hows it going? he asks himself. Its marginally better. I dont know, but my sense is theres been no quantum leap, I can tell you. And I dont need a poll or a survey. Ive been around long enough.
In a town of platitudes, Dodds realism sounds more like pessimism. But its hard to blame him.
Six weeks ago, a Quinnipiac poll showed the Banking Committee chairman with 33 percent approval, 58 percent disapproval and a 16-point deficit in a match-up with former Rep. Rob Simmons (R-Conn.).
The poll came in the immediate aftermath of a flap over a provision of the federal bailout, authored by Dodd, that allowed bailed-out AIG executives to collect bonuses.
Prior to that, Dodd burned bridges by moving his family to Iowa during an ill-fated 2008 presidential campaign and was discovered to have a special mortgage deal from Countrywide Financial. He has also been forced to answer questions about a cottage he bought in Ireland at what appeared to be a bargain price.

Good. Wish I wasn’t 2500 miles away so I could attend.
uploading pictures as I speak
videos to be finished some time later
signatures do not matter anymore
our courts make the laws, not our legislators
There were about thirty (30) demonstrators actively picketing Dodd's arrival. Twenty-five (25) Dump Dodders attended the town hall meeting held in the Griffin Hospital cafeteria. About 250 people all together......we had 10% of the crowd. Three from our group spoke. Videos on You tube Sunday, May 17.
Our yard signs were the hot ticket of the day.
Dodd being Dodd.....eeeewww
I like it that she is wearing a DUMP DODD T-Shirt! LOL!

CT Attorney General Blumenthal does not realize he is surrounded by Dump Dodd protesters.
