If somebody were deliberately trying to undermine the very fabric of these United States, he would first vow not just to change its policies but to completely "change America," and then would do just about everything Barack Obama already has begun to do as president.
To undermine this nation, he would attack the essential sanctity of contracts -- exactly as Obama has done. Never mind the "contracts" clause of the Constitution -- who needs to get hung up on the Constitution's actual language when "empathy" is more important?
For that matter, he would denigrate the whole notion of equal justice under the law by criticizing the whole notion of a judge as a neutral umpire. And he would employ, as a senator, outrageous and unprecedented means -- the filibusters of judicial nominees -- to block judges who don't agree with his own choices of who deserves more "justice" than whom.
To undermine this nation, he would selectively release only those portions of intelligence memos that make his nation look bad, but not those that provide context and reasonable motivations for the subject of the memos. And it would selectively edit memos from its own intelligence director to eliminate his statements in support of the effectiveness of the policies discussed in those other memos -- and his statements supporting the motives of those who adopted those policies in protection of their fellow citizens. And he would leave open the possibility of prosecuting earlier administration's lawyers merely for giving legal advice he disagrees with.

Sorry to be pessimist, i think it is too far gone. When you have people who have no interest in country besides what they can get then there is no hope. My family shed a lot of blood and tears over this land and all of this hurts me immensely.
Never thought I’d see the day AFTER 911...that the American people would put a radical (no birth certificate, questionable religions beliefts, and anti-business) in the White House...
bump
The vets at the veterans day even last year were all stating that they fought and many of their fellows died in order to defeat what the US just elected.
Obama is not surrounded by dolts. He is surrounded by people that know exactly how to cripple the USA. The congress is supposed to be a safety net. They are not.
Comfort, safety and luxury have the unfortunate consequence of giving way to laziness, laxness and casual greed, which is taken advantage of those who would eat us.
Then you must be talking about most of our government officials - good for nothing elitists who are out of touch with real America. Also, half of our country voted for the idiot.
I believe that this last election was one of the most historically important elections in the last 200 years, in that the end result of it will either bring about the destruction of the United States as we know it or another armed revolution.
Time will tell.
Sad....but very well said.
It's going to take every one of us who still love this country, believe in American Exceptionalism and are proud of our great history and heritage to stand up to this dictator wannabe and stop him before it's too late.
2010 folks....2010 VOTE!!
We can’t wait that long. By then he will have destoyed the health care system. Add that to our banking system, financial services and the auto industry and there won’t be much left.
About half of this country didn’t buy the snake oil.
His approval rating is still over 60%, which proves most people do not pay attention.
I’m talking about the whole population. Even the poor just have to pick up their handout, do little for housing/food/water/heat/TV/etc., and worry relatively little about crime/invasion/etc. - of course half the country voted for someone who promised continued comfort, safety and luxury.
Our poverty line is 20x the world’s median income.
His behavior as POTUS seems to justify the founders insertion of Article II, Sec 1, clause 5 of the US constitution. I believe that his first priorities are other than loyalty to the nation that he putatively leads. This lying crypto-marxist demagogue MUST be forced to prove his constitutional eligibility or be removed from office, or this republic will cease to exist as it was conceptually founded.
CNBC had the meme of “Obama is smart” going full blast. It was pathetic to see Komisar Kueball going all goebles in pushing the anti-inflation BS.
[They all like fish sticks and don’t get the joke. appoligies to south park]
There’s a guy here at work who bets me that Zero will get re-elected in ‘12. I told him, if that happens,if the people are really that stupid, there really is no hope for this nation, and i’m giving up. I’m heading for TX or MT!
Surely this president has other motives. But even if his intentions are good, we all know the substance of the pavement on the road to perdition.
So, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. I suspect that the author overrates our Supreme and Grand Leaders intentions as good. Good from whose perspective; an enemy, maybe. Certainly not good for those of us who were not suckled at the breasts of communist mothers.
I believe that Jimmy Carter was just a stupid, misguided man who never got into a fight with the schoolyard bully and, therefore, had no knowledge of the world. I could almost forgive his near-fatal naivety as the results of it echo down the decades. I understood that Bill Clinton was merely a malevolent narcissist intent only on his own gratification. But this man, Obama, is clearly out to destroy the greatest social experiment ever conducted. He is not paving the way to Hell with good intentions. Hes setting us on a course, like Carter did, of decades of terror with countless lives lost. The road to Hell will be eight lanes wide, paved with taxpayer dollars and will stretch into the future fifty years hence.
