Obama warns Netanyahu: Don't surprise me with Iran strike
HaAretz ^ | 5/13/2009 | Aluf Benn

Posted on 05/13/2009 5:37:40 PM PDT by Nachum

U.S. President Barack Obama has sent a message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanding that Israel not surprise the U.S. with an Israeli military operation against Iran. The message was conveyed by a senior American official who met in Israel with Netanyahu, ministers and other senior officials. Earlier, Netanyahu's envoy visited Washington and met with National Security Adviser James Jones and with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and discussed the dialogue Obama has initiated with Tehran.

>>>Don’t even be stupid enough to tip off the Obama Administration.<<<

I don't think that Netanyahu wants to do that...but it's almost impossible to pull it off without our cooperation at some level.

Israel would have to fly over Iraq on the way in, which would require our cooperation, or contemplate a much longer flight around all the unfriendly countries which would require multiple refuelings of their F-15i's.

Of course some of our guys in Iraq could look away from their radars at just the wrong time if the Mossad and the IDF do their homework first.

Hopefully it will work out like the Seal pirate shoot - Obama never gave permission, the "on site commander" took the responsibility and loosed the snipers to fire. Since it all turned out OK, the slimeball took the credit.

>>>This was step one; isolate the target.<<<

You and I think along the same lines. But I think Netanyahu knows how to play that game. I have read a couple of things today that give me the impression that he may have a few hole cards up his sleeve - and may have even landed to first blow.

To late to find and send to you now....ping me if your interested and I'll do it tomorrow.

What a stupid thing to say. A man in charge of his house isn't going to call some community organizer from the Windy City to get approval. He might get 30 seconds given the gravity, but thats it.

>>>The only purpose I can think of is to undermine Israel's position. <<<

He been doing that recently. Two instances of us denying Israel access to weapons that would make an attack on Iran less of a lethal proposition for Israeli pilots.

He already lit up our radar in Iraq?

That would explain the reactive ‘don’t surprise me’ chickenshit remark from 0.

Do it, Bibi.

I'll bet Bibi knows how to handle this alright. Zer0 just isn't as smart as he thinks he is. How many things has he reversed position on now that he sees what a President has to deal with? Isn't this country great where the most important job in the world offers on the job training?

I expect the world is going to teach 0bambi some real serious lessons. And the U.S. is going to pay handsomely for his schooling.

Oh no please, don’t you think we have suffered through enough photo-op’s of the empty suit?

Oh wait, a photo-op of him kissing Netanyahu’s ass would be as welcome as him on his knees in front of the king who he bowed to and kissed his hand.

I hope Israel bombs the Palestinian state FIRST and THEN goes after Iran.

That is a very good point. Iran will activate Hezbollah, Syria, and countless unknown sleepers at the first sign of trouble. Wouldn't hurt to neutralize the U N forces in Lebanon, either.

Or perhaps Zero is terrified and desperate and blustering like a teenager. he is way out of his depth and scared of being embarrassed.

He may be reduced to that point sometime in the future. But I don't think he is experiencing any fear just yet. IMO he is still riding high on his hugely inflated self-image. He thinks he can manipulate the world by rallying public opinion to his side forcing anyone who disagrees to capitulate.

His only way of dealing with things is the community organizer/Chicago thug methodology. That might be effective in Illinois to bulldoze private corporations and finagle lucrative contracts for friends. In the world of foreign policy you can do that but it takes a lot more finesse and sometimes decades of preparation. In truth Zer0 didn't stick around Chicago long enough to prove he was any kind of player in that world.

It wouldn't surprise me if France or Germany were the first to denounce His Oneness, in word or action, before someone like N. Korea or China or another hostile nation did.

They all have vested interests in the world as it is, more or less, some good some bad, and they aren't going to let some wannabe Messiah screw their pooch for the sake of his vision of a World Kumbayah Tent Revival Meeting w/ Rainbows, Unicorns and Lollipops.

If Hussein had any balls he'd defend America and Israel by taking out Natanz et al.

But as we well know the evening call to prayer is the sweetest sound on earth.

Time to barf, shower, and bomb, bomb, bomb Iran.

It is important to the Americans that they not be caught off guard and find themselves facing facts on the ground at the last minute.

Or What?

Is 0bama going to take the same tone with Natanyahu as he did with Chrysler Bond holders?
