I wonder if the Russian fallout shelters are still functional. I know ours aren’t.

Russian survivalists call this speculative catastrophe the SHTF-day Really?
We in America have a similar phrase.

I was born in the thirties.
One of the very few advantages of growing old is that
one can reach an age at which he can do as he damn well
pleases within the limits of his purse.

Back in the 70’s there was a problem with the sugar supply. I don’t recall exactly what it was... maybe factories closing or trade. Anyway, I was still finding boxes of stockpiled H&C sugar some 20 years later.

Thanks for the link.
Remember, print out now what info you might need. Don’t wait until after the electricity goes out and the internet quits.

Valentin Ponomarenko was Russia’s big Y2K nut. That would be like listening to World Nut Daily today in the U.S.
Pretty silly.

This probably isn't the exact book your looking for but I've got the entire
Foxfire Book Series on my bookshelf.
If you can scare them up they're well worth adding to your collection.
They were actually mentioned in the "Lights Out" novel you gave me the link to.
