Kay Jones, a producer on CNN's Anderson Cooper's "AC360," recently blogged on the show's website that she "deserve[s] the month of May off." Well, she might as well take it because Cooper's fan base is doing just that already.
Cooper's ratings have been in a sharp decline all year, and so far the month of May is no exception. According to Nielsen, the audience for the 10-11 p.m. hour of his show so far this month is 933,000 viewers. This is the first time he's fallen below the one-million mark since the dog days of last August. Anderson is losing almost 20% of his lead-in from Larry King and is in danger of being passed in the ratings by MSNBC's 10 p.m. repeat of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann." Since the start of 2009, Cooper has lost one-third of his audience.
CNN has invested heavily into marketing Cooper as the face of the network. The hype has never really translated into commercial success,

My vision of Hell, or at least Purgatory, is waiting forever for my delayed flight, unable to escape the horrific torture of loud CNN monitors all over the freeking airport. My wife was called up for jury duty recently in Collin Co., Tx.
When she got there, they had two monitors running CNN in the room where everyone was waiting. She went up and asked that one be put onto Fox News.
They refused (both being fed off of one tuner it seems), so she told them she would be waiting outside the door.
I love this woman...
I have lived that hell. I never wait near the gate.
That's why I always head straight for one of the airport bars to get trashed.
Anyway, the airport bars usually have sports on their TVs, unlike the ones in the main terminals.
Cheers.
I thought about watching Anderson Cooper once, but the Food Network had a show on about how they make tootsie rolls. Sorry, Coop.
CNN hasn’t done anything interesting since one of their news crews shot their way out of Tikrit, Iraq and they even apologized for doing that.
You can check out but never leave....(my vision of hell)
Butt Boy can always get hired on with flamingly gay Bravo Network.
“You gotta see it, you gotta be there, you gotta smell it.....” ((((click)))).
Anderson confessed that it is difficult to speak when teabagging. Perhaps people cannot understand him?
Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy! Perhaps his audience found his remarks about tea party attendees a bit much to take?
I’m happy to say that at the Dentist office I go to they play Fox. Also the pharmacy waiting area also runs Fox. Now if I could only get the Dr’s office to switch I’d never have to see CNN again.
Get a universal remote and change the channel on a random basis. Drive them crazy.
My guess: the face on the left is gravitas and the other one is confusion, right?
Maybe he can start up a show in Hanoi. IIRC, he studied in Vietnam.
I'm suprised she's able to get through a 1-hour television program. BTW, the difference between Cooper and the guys on Fox is they started this gig because they needed the job. Cooper is a Vanderbilt heiress who just likes to see herself on television. That might be another reason why people aren't watching.
If I was being beat by Olbermann..I swear..Id kill myself...or at least hide.
I like that idea!
